Yes! You must have a valid passport, and also be sure it doesn't expire within 6 months of the wedding date (March 2023). They will not let you onto the airplane if so.
Not for American, EU, Australia, & Canada passport holders. For other passports, check the Brazilian consulate website for restrictions and plan accordingly.
About 2.5 hours driving (140km / 88miles). The drive is beautiful, winding down the mountain, through the jungle, to the beach.
It's a 6.5-7 hour drive to/from Rio. That being said, if you take the beach route and plan to stop along the way and maybe stay a night, it's a beautiful way to explore the southern coast. Otherwise flights to Rio are less than 30 minutes and are frequent throughout the day.
The hotel we are staying at and hosting all of the activities is walking distance to the main parts of town. It's easy and safe to walk here. If you plan on driving to other beach towns and doing more exploring, then yes, you'll need a car.
Yes. While Sao Paulo and Rio can be dangerous, Cambury is a chill surf town for locals. Of course we recommend being mindful of your surroundings: keep you passport safe, do not wear (or bring) expensive jewelry, be mindful of your phone, and stay in groups when walking at night.
Beach Hotel and Villas Cambury are blocked exclusively for our wedding this weekend. We encourage everyone to stay here as it is well located, has all of the necessary amenities, a good price, and we'll make the most of the weekend together!
If coming from the US, best to fly overnight Thursday, September 22nd and land Friday. Friday evening is our first welcome event. If you can take Monday off, and fly back Monday night, you'll make the most of our Sunday beach party. However, we know vacation days are limited, so you could also fly late Sunday night and spend the first half of the day at the beach. We arrive Wednesday and leave Tuesday.
