We encourage you to take advantage of the amazing hiking in Acadia National Park! Some are our favorite hikes are below. You'll need a car to get to these hikes and some require a park pass that you can buy when driving into the park. Easy (all should be easily accessible by the Island Explorer (Bus Tour) or are otherwise close to Bar Harbor) - Dorr Homestead Schooner Head Sieur De Monts gardens Walk to Barr Island Moderate (might be easier with a car, require more planning, or require more exertion upon arrival): Walk/bike around Eagle Lake South Bubble Hike Walk around Jordan Pond Hard (strenuous/further): Hike Penobscot, Sargent, or Cadillac! Acadia Mountain (great shorter hike, but on the other side of the island)
See the Great Harbor of Mount Desert, visit a fishing community on Islesford, and visit the cliffs of Valley Cove in Somes Sound Fjord. These cruises are typically narrated by a Park Ranger! A fun way to see MDI by Sea!
Sunset cruises and Whale Watch tours
The only sand beach in Acadia! Bring a picnic and relax on the beach.
LOBSTER ROLLS, do we need to say more?
Closest option to Bar Harbor, which happens to be the 8th oldest golf club in the country (1888). This course is nice, but due to its proximity to Bar Harbor, it's definitely on the more expensive side. Get a tee time online and enjoy the views of Acadia mountains.
