If you know us at all, you know this marriage has been a long time coming. Our story starts in 2010, when our eighth grade science teacher assigned Rachel's seat behind David's - the rest is history (fun fact: that science teacher, upon learning of our relationship, started every class with saying "middle school relationships never last" - boy, was she wrong!). We endured middle school woes, high school drama, and long distance for the first time in college, before somehow making it to the same law school (David still lives in delusion thinking this somehow makes Rachel a Gator fan). Once David finally graduated, he joined Rachel in Miami and started their careers as attorneys (and yes, we work in the same building - how are we not sick of each other yet?). But what you might not know is the story of how David completely and totally surprised Rachel with the proposal. David had been making plans with Jenna, Rachel's sister and Maid of Honor, for months. The plans involved David designing a fake invitation to a work social event, fake emailing it to himself, and convincing Rachel (with Jenna’s and Bridesmaid Alexa's help) that the perfect dress to wear at a spring event was not a flowy floral dress, but a white lace dress! After tricking Rachel into thinking we were getting drinks on the beach with David's boss, David's elaborate scheme resulted in Rachel on the beach in a white dress, perfectly ready for a surprise proposal. After climbing rocks, navigating a packed beach, and David secretly coordinating a hidden photographer, we ended up in front of the picturesque Cape Florida Lighthouse on Key Biscayne, Miami. After getting down on one knee (and completely blacking out - seriously, neither of us could tell you what David said to Rachel during the proposal), we were engaged and finally earned the new title of fiancés! We are so excited to celebrate with all of our friends and family on November 2nd - it's been a long time coming (seriously, a really really REALLY long time)! Love, David and Rachel
