How We Met

Maybe She Loves Me, Maybe Not?

In May 2013, Adam caught a glance of Priscilla across a crowded ballroom at a large fundraiser in Brooklyn. When she caught his eye, he immediately thought she was the most beautiful girl that he had ever seen. For Adam, it was love at first sight. He even told his friends that he was going to "marry that girl." However, it took Priscilla a little while longer to feel the same way. In the following months, every time Adam asked Priscilla out on a date, she said she was busy studying (which was true -- she did graduate third in her class at Fordham!). At first, Priscilla and Adam were just friends, working in local government and politics together while also both being full-time college students. However, they soon realized that their bond was more than just friendship. Six months after they first met each other, Adam and Priscilla went on their first date (finally -- poor Adam, but kudos for his persistence), the Friday after Thanksgiving. A week later they shared their first kiss. And after that, they became inseparable, recognizing that what they shared was special and quickly falling in love with each other. Sharing similar interests and goals, they soon realized that they were meant to be together, making that fateful encounter the beginning of a long and exciting journey.

The Wedding

Seven Years Later....

Priscilla and Adam consciously chose to have both their marriage ceremony and wedding reception in Brooklyn. The borough holds a special place in both of their hearts; not only is it where they both were born and raised, but it is also the place where they met and built their relationship. The venues for the ceremony and reception hold special meaning as well. The ceremony will take place in the neighborhood of Gravesend, which is Priscilla’s home community where four generations of her family have lived for nearly one-hundred years. In addition, Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church is the place where her maternal grandparents, Mario and Josephine, were married in 1950, as well as the home parish of Priscilla and her family. Priscilla attended faith formation classes at Our Lady of Grace, volunteered in the parish’s Teen Group Youth Ministry program, and served as a lector and altar server in the church for many years. The reception will be held at El Caribe Country Club Caterers, located in the Mill Basin section of Brooklyn. Adam has lived in this area of the southeastern end of the borough his whole life, with deep family roots as well. In addition, Priscilla and Adam met at the venue during a high-profile political fundraiser in May 2013. They have also attended numerous events there as a couple.

The Couple

Real Life Law & Order

As a police officer and lawyer, Priscilla and Adam enjoy watching classic crime dramas and legal procedural shows including Blue Bloods, Law & Order: SVU, and The Blacklist. Of course, they also enjoy discussing local and national politics (and sometimes their arguments get heated). On days they are feeling more lighthearted, they'll watch Disney Pixar films (Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Up, Wall-E, and the Incredibles are a few favorites) and playing vintage video games like Mario Kart and Super Mario Party on Nintendo GameCube. When in doubt, you can always find Priscilla and Adam enjoying a good bite to eat, taking advantage of the diverse cuisines that Brooklyn has to offer (American BBQ, Japanese Hibachi, Italian-American, Chinese, and Kosher-style Deli are some of their highly-coveted choices). When they're not traveling elsewhere, Priscilla and Adam like to pretend their tourists in the City they call home.
