Matron of Honor
Brandy is my cousin, so we have known each other forever. I remember her curling my hair when we were younger and me saying, “This is exactly how it will look when I get married.” Growing up, we would make up dances together, play games, and talk boys. She took care of me when I had CRAZY bug bites and still talked to me after getting sick all over her room during a slumber party. She has always been like a sister to me, and I have always wished we lived closer. I could not be happier to have her by my side on Brandon’s and my wedding day, and no- my hair will DEFINITLY not look like how we styled it when we were 10.

Heather and I met my freshmen year of college. We both pledged the same sorority and were at the same party shortly after. Next thing you know this girl is asking if I want “support-a-sis points” and I can get some if I take a shot with her. I’m sure I took the shot, but the only points awarded were friend points because we have been friends ever since. In fact, Heather convinced me to run my first half marathon. She flew back to the Midwest to run it with me and a year later I flew to her to run my first marathon. If she can be by my side for 39+ miles, she is definitely going to be by my side on my wedding day.

While walking home from a sorority meeting one weeknight in college a girl who I had talked to a couple of times asked me to be her roommate when we moved into the sorority house. I was so excited someone liked me enough to ask me to be their roommate I didn’t care that I couldn’t remember her name! Thankfully, it didn’t take long learn Courtney’s name, but we also quickly started referring to each other as ‘roomie’. We got along great as roommates and stayed friends after our time in the house was up. I knew our friendship was genuine and that she is the kind of person who will support me, but also challenge me. Courtney is part of why I started running. She encouraged me to run my first 5k and I have been going ever since. I couldn’t ask for a better friend to have with me on the wedding day.

While Jade and I were in the same sorority we didn’t become close friends until after college. She started coming to some get-togethers with Courtney and Heather and next think you know she is seeing unicorns when she drives through Wisconsin. Her vibrant personality and creativity had me hooked. Somewhere along the line we started celebrating New Year’s Eve together. Some years we fell asleep before midnight, some years we actually made it to the party. Once she moved to the East Coast to become a CEO Boss Babe, our New Year’s traditions faded but our friendship stuck around. My wedding day wouldn’t be the same without her and her dance moves to liven it up the reception.
