We were lucky enough to meet each other through our friends from college (Thanks Carolyn, Arnaud and Dani)! Our first meeting was on a rooftop house party in Brooklyn in the spring of 2017, but we didn't start dating until summer of 2018 after a few weekend trips with our mutual friends.

Porter proposed at a vineyard (of course for those who know Alexis!) just below Stags’ Leap Manor in Napa Valley, California. Our shared love of wine and travel made it the perfect place for the special moment!

After dating long distance between NYC and New Haven, fate (aka a global pandemic) brought Alexis to Connecticut. Then in 2022 when Porter was accepted to Vanderbilt for his MBA, we moved to Nashville, TN and loved our two years plus here. Following Porter's graduation in May 2024, we are making Florida our permanent home and moving to Vero Beach!

Vero Beach, Florida and the John’s Island Club have been one of Porter’s most cherished places to visit growing up - with many memories from his childhood made here. His grandparents, Vin Sr. and Jane Dowling visited in the 80's and quickly fell in love and became residents, as did other members of his family. Walking the beautiful beaches, quaint downtown, and wonderful restaurants and bars of Vero, it was clear that this was where we wanted to get married, and bring together all of our families and friends for an amazing weekend. And now that we are moving to Vero Beach permanently, we couldn't be more excited to host everyone in our new hometown!
