From Sarah's POV: At the start of my third year at the University of Dayton, I moved into a duplex on Stonemill Road. I didn't know it at the time, but Nick was already living on the other side of the house (a real shock to me because I thought we would be living next to fifth year girls). A few days later, on my way to training and Nick's way home from work, we met on the shared front porch. Nick immediately forgot my name and I informed my roommates that we were living next to "a boy named Nick that works at the RecPlex and has a horse tattoo." The boy’s side of the house quickly became the hang out spot and Nick and I became fast friends. On September 13th, 2019, Nick and I went on our first date to Old Scratch Pizza. Dinner was followed by Graeter’s ice cream, singing along to Disney music, and watching High School Musical 2. About a month later, on October 12th, we made our relationship official. Since then, we have both graduated undergrad and moved to Columbus together. Within the year, we also adopted our dog, Sprite. On April 22, 2023, Nick asked me to marry him in front of the chapel at UD. He had planned the proposal with my little sister (who was still attending UD and living in the same duplex). Megan asked me to come to school to take her graduation photos and got me to dress up for the occasion with the excuse that we could take photos together as a Mother's Day gift. Little did I know, I was not there to take graduation photos at all. We were supposed to start at the chapel so Megan and I could take some photos together, but in reality, Nick was already there waiting to pop the question. In addition to the proposal, Nick had lunch planned at Old Scratch Pizza (our first date spot) and a dinner reservation with some of our family planned for later that night! He never fails to make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
