When Pierce moved to Colorado, Sam was bartending at Carthers Roadhouse in Del Norte. October rolled around and Carthers was hosting their annual Halloween party. The staff dressed up and the owners posted photos of the staff in the community groups, including the South Fork Happenings page. Pierce scrolled across a photo of Sam dressed in a blue astronaut costume and asked a co-worker if he knew who she was. This particular co-worker did not, so the matter passed. In late November of 2022, Sam was with her friend Paige, her mom Joy, and Kris. Joy mentioned that Kris had a new co-worker that was handsome and seemed like a good guy. She thought that Paige or Sam should try talking to him. Sam took the bait and added Pierce on social media and in response, he made the first move and reached out realizing who she was from the photo in the Facebook group. The two texted for a few days until he and a friend came into Carthers while Sam was working and their first time meeting. From there, he invited Sam to dinner at his cabin in South Fork. Sam didn't go home until late that night and left knewing that this was it. The two saw each other the next day, and every day after that since! It did not take long for the couple to fall in love and from there, things moved pretty quick! Pierce met Sams parents within the first two weeks of dating, and Sam met Pierces parents at Christmas that same year--an entire saga that will never be forgotten--if you know you know😂 The pair began dating December 9, 2022 and will have had been together 1 year and 9 months come the wedding!
