Many people talk about the different factors that make a relationship work. Some say it's common interests and others say it's chemistry. While both of those are important, the key factor for Daniel and Peyton was timing. Daniel moved to Salem, OR from Chico, CA for school and a fresh start in 2020. In 2021, Peyton moved to Corvallis, OR from Fairbanks, AK to attend grad school at Oregon State University. Over the course of their first years in Oregon, Peyton and Daniel spent time finding themselves and going on horrible date after horrible date. It got to the point where they both decided to go on just one more date before deleting the apps and giving up on online dating. This would be the last 1st date they would ever have. After weeks of messaging on a dating app, Daniel, being the nervous gentleman he is, beat around the bush too much and Peyton had to make the first move and ask him out for a beer. He excitedly agreed and per his usual style, was late for the date. As he ran up to the brewery drenched in sweat and nervous beyond belief he looked up and saw the most relaxed, happy, beautiful woman and thought "she is so out of my league." They spent 4 hours just talking about life in Oregon, their childhoods in Alaska and California, and where Daniel should visit in Alaska. After the brewery they walked by the river and talked some more before Daniel walked her to her car. Knowing she was way out of his league, he quickly made plans for the 2nd date before the first one ended. Daniel and Peyton spent the next month experiencing all kinds of dates ranging from county fairs, rodeos, sushi dates, movie dates, coast trips and after a county fair in Corvallis, Peyton introduced Daniel to her friends. Her friends instantly approved, and Daniel made it official and asked Peyton to be his girlfriend. From there on the adventure began. Daniel and Peyton fell in love hard and fast while exploring all that Oregon (and Alaska) had to offer. They fell head over heels for one another and anyone that came in contact with them knew they would go the distance. Finally, in September of 2023, during a trip to Alaska, Daniel got up the courage to ask both of Peyton's parents for their blessing to marry their beautiful daughter. They agreed and told him they trusted him to always love and cherish their little girl. The next day the family all went out to the Presler's cabin. After a perfect day of family time, playing games, and laughing, Daniel took Peyton down to the lake, gave her a hug, got down on one knee, and asked the most important question he would ever ask: "Will you be my wife?" Without any hesitation she said "YES!" and now they are both looking forward to having you join them as they make a promise to love and cherish one another for the rest of their lives.
