We know this section is a little long, but we both really like food and we have a lot of out-of-town guests. If you are staying in the town of Butler near the venue, their Main Street is adorable (and walkable!) and full of cute shops and restaurants. These recommendations are places we can vouch for ourselves.
BeanThru
4221 Ohio River Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15202, (412) 761-3400
Like Starbucks, but better. For when you're falling asleep after Mass and need a jolt before driving to the reception.
Anchor & Anvil Coffee Bar
7221 Church Avenue, Ben Avon, PA 15202, (412) 772-8569
Great donuts (on Saturdays) and fun coffee menu with laid back seating, a favorite Saturday morning breakfast spot.
Lincoln Avenue Brewery
538 Lincoln Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15202, (412) 212-6363
Local brewery within walking distance of the church, a good spot for lunch on the weekend.
Arsenal Cider House
2573 Brandt School Road, Wexford, PA 15090
They make their own ciders! Fun option between wedding and reception.
Good l'oven cookies
419 Lincoln Avenue, Bellevue, PA 15202, (412) 616-1251
Great cookies, great Reuben, cheap prices, and 2 blocks from the church.
Severina Restaurant and Bar
1330 Center Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15229
A date-night favorite. Hole in the wall Italian cafe with an amazing dessert case and homemade gelato!
Della Terra | Italian Bistro
100 North Main Street, Zelienople, PA 16063, (724) 473-0630
Really good Italian food north of the city. A slight drive, but worth it.
Ramen Bar
5860 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217, (412) 521-5138
Luke's favorite ramen spot in the city.
The Yard
100 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, (412) 291-8182
Grilled cheese on steroids. Maybe don't eat here on Friday, because you will not want to dance afterwards.
Shooters Golf & Bar
50 Pine Creek Drive, Wexford, PA 15090
Like TopGolf, but not as loud or crowded. Good quality bar food, and they have a brunch spread every weekend!
Walk the Burgh Tours
1049 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222
Full disclosure: we have not done one of these, but they sound fun if you want to see more of Pittsburgh!
National Aviary
700 Arch Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212
It's for the birds
Allegheny Observatory
159 Riverview Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15214
This is where we got engaged. If you don't see enough deer at home, there are plenty roaming around this park! Please note tours are Thursday and Friday nights only, and require reservations.
