You may be curious how we chose Sarasota for our destination wedding. We wanted to get married somewhere that held special meaning to us, and Sarasota is high on that list. Matt had spent time there over the years, but as many times as I visited the Florida panhandle growing up, I had never made it farther down the gulf coast to Sarasota. In June 2020, a few months into the Covid-19 craziness, Matt found a rental house near St. Armands Circle, so we grabbed the dogs and headed south to escape the Nashville "condo box." We fell in love with the town, its beautiful beaches, and its laid back vibe. Matt and I walked to St. Armands Circle almost every day - for a coffee, to grab dinner or ice cream or to sit upstairs at the Tommy Bahama bar, where Matt tried (with some success) to turn me into a gearhead by educating me on every car that cruised by. We enjoyed our time in Sarasota so much that we returned in May 2021 to vacation in neighboring Longboat Key. During that trip, we decided that a wedding in Sarasota was exactly what we wanted, and we could easily envision our family and friends having as much fun there as we have.
