If you make it to Newport, start here! Bannister’s Wharf has a ton of restaurants and shops that are very “Newport.” Beyond Bannister’s Wharf, the big streets that basically everything is located on in Newport are: America's Cup Ave, Thames St, and Bellevue Ave; so wander up and down those!
If you make it to Newport, this walk has beautiful views of the coastline. It takes around 2.5-3hrs to do the whole thing, but there are several enter/exit points along the way so you don't have to do the whole thing if you don't want. See link for info and a map at the bottom.
If you make it to Newport, do a tour of any of the mansions on Bellevue Ave. If you don’t have time for a tour, just walking/driving past them and seeing them from the outside is cool too. Marble House and the Breakers are especially beautiful.
If you make it to Newport, this is an upscale place that’s great for drinks, lunch or an early dinner. Situated on a big hill overlooking the newport harbor. Insanely stunning views of sail boats going by. Quintessential New England.

If you make it to Newport, Clarke Cooke House is a good place for food. It’s located on Bannister's Wharf, and each level of the is called a different name (i.e the candy store, etc). All levels serve great food and are beautiful. Make a reservation!
