On our first date, the topic of nicknames came up. Penelope shared how she's had many nicknames, but "P" has stuck the most. Nathan smiled and said that he's really only had one nickname: "T" (There was another Nathan in his friend group as a child and "Nathan T" became just the letter "T"). And we thought: T & P has a nice ring to it...
Narragansett (pronounced neh-ruh-gan-suht) is a small beach town in Rhode Island. It received its name from the Narragansett people, an Algonquian American Indian tribe. The town became a Smith family destination in 1970 when Penelope's grandfather, Jim Smith, spent a summer there; and he loved it so much he bought a house! The house has been passed down through generations and is gradually becoming the center of the Smith family orbit - particularly during Covid. The house and the nearby Dunes Club have hosted countless Smith family events and memories, from weddings to birthdays to new years eves to afternoon lobster rolls and ice creams. We're thrilled to share this special place with all of our friends and family! We hope you love it as much as we do!
