We are getting married in Grand Teton National Park with no frills! This means no seating, no altar, no microphone. We're so excited to have everyone around us when we share our vows in front of the most beautiful view of the Tetons.
Jackson Hole is the valley formed by the Teton Mountains in the West and the Gros Ventre Mountains in the East. The 50-mile-long valley is in the western part of Wyoming. In addition to Jackson, the towns of Teton Village and Wilson are located within the valley along with a couple of other towns. All are a short drive apart from one another.
This is a question that we get a lot. Jackson Hole has 3 areas (cities) that are very close to each other in which we have given recommendations for lodging; downtown Jackson, Wilson, and Teton Village. Staying in downtown Jackson will get you closest to all of the action, but Wilson and Teton Village are both beautiful and only about 10-15 mins from downtown. Teton Village (Jackson's ski resort) has it's own action going on with shopping, dining and the gondola. Wilson is a quieter area that is a little more laid back. The Wilson area has a market and a few great restaurants. That being said, we will be staying at the Snow King Resort close to downtown Jackson.
There are a wide variety of things to do in Jackson, from the ceremony and celebrating to floating down the Snake River, and hiking. Here are a few tips: Ceremony: Whatever you're comfortable in. If that's cocktail attire, great- if that's western wear (we will be in Wyoming after all), awesome- if that's khakis or jeans- that's okay too. We will be outside for the ceremony and will have a short walk down a gravel path to the ceremony site so keep that in mind when choosing your footwear. Weather is also notoriously unpredictable so make sure to have layers. Rafting attire: sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, and comfortable clothing. Exploring/casual attire: layers, backpack, camera, sunscreen, and comfy shoes. With any outfit/adventure, bring layers (are you seeing a pattern here? ha)! The west is notorious for rapidly changing conditions and with low humidity, temps can drop quickly.
