In classic millennial fashion, Bridget and Paul met on Bumble. For those that are unfamiliar, Bumble is a dating app where the woman must initiate the first message. Instead of the boring “hey”, Bridget concocted a “Would You Rather” question with her friends that she was convinced would help her get to know someone immediately: “Would you rather live 1 life of 1000 years or 10 lives of 100 years?” Just like she’d hoped, Paul’s answer immediately set him apart. Instead of just answering the question – and likely to no surprise for people that know Paul well – he listed off at least 6 follow-up questions to ensure he had all the information! In an interesting plot twist, Paul did not live in Portland, so their first date had to wait for a month until he came back on another business trip. They finally met at 10 Barrel Brewing, split a flight of beer, and got so caught up chatting that the staff had to kick them out at closing time. Fast forward 1 week, and COVID hit the world, shutting down both Portland and San Francisco. Their first year of dating was filled with flights to and from the cities they lived in, making the most of the time they had together. This included lots of park days, card games, cooking at home, and camping. In a way, the “lack of things to do” brought Bridget and Paul closer – they had to be creative with their time which led to lots of unique experiences and memories.

In May of 2021, Paul moved to Portland to be closer to Bridget and the headquarters of the company he works for. After a year of long distance, they quickly embraced being in the same city and getting to know each other in a new way. Paul and Bridget established a life together focused on friends, family, and making the most of living in the Pacific Northwest! They are avid campers – Bridget has alarms set for exactly when she needs to book the iconic camp site and Paul always has a list of new gadgets to buy to make camp life more fun. They love to hike – Paul is always up for whatever crazy hike Bridget throws his way and ensures only a few tears are shed as he helps her conquer her fear of heights. But above all else, Bridget and Paul live an on-the-go lifestyle and love to travel. Nothing excites them more than visiting new places and sharing new experiences! In September of 2023, Bridget and Paul got engaged in typical Paul and Bridget fashion – after a strenuous 10 mile hike up to a summit in the Wallowa Mountains. Little did Bridget know, Paul hid a bottle of Veuve in his luggage so that they were able to celebrate properly when they got back to the campsite! The two look forward to a lifetime full of adventures together and cannot wait to become husband and wife later this year in one of their favorite places.
