Flight
The closest airport to Tagaytay City is in Manila. Tips: #1. Usually the cheapest trips will have two stopovers from Phoenix (one within the US and the second stopover being in a neighboring country in the Philippines), which can result in at least 28+ hours of travel time. Another thing that you can do is to book a direct flight from SFO to MNL through Philippine Airlines, and get a cheaper flight from PHX to SFO. The only catch is you would have to pick up your luggages and check it back in again. #2. Not Recommended: I do not recommend EVA air as you would have a difficult time getting someone on the phone if you do decide to change any information regarding your flight.
Travel Note
Traveling around Manila and its surrounding cities (Quezon City, Makati, Taguig, Bonifacio Global City, etc.). - Download the "Grab" App to travel around Manila and Metro Manila. Grab is the Uber version of the Philippines. Traveling to and from (and around Tagaytay area) - There is no Grab or Taxi going from Manila to Tagaytay, and Grab is not available in Tagaytay. The wedding venue is 1.5 to 2 hours away from Manila. - We have a family friend that has a van and a connection of fleet of drivers that can pick up from Manila and help you get to Tagaytay. They can also take you from point A to point B in Tagaytay without and out of town fees as they live around the area. - Go to Bryan's Facebook page and feel free to message him of your travel plans to see if he can help you find a contact to help drive you around. - https://www.facebook.com/ronnacuadrarodil Tips: #1. We would recommend you to stay in Tagaytay town proper as you can walk to restaurants and the mall. The wedding venue is a 30 minute drive and there are not a lot of places to eat at. During the wedding day, you can procure a van/ride from Bryan or any service you may find online. #2. If you are in Tagaytay town proper and decide to ride a tricycle (tuktuk), make sure to ask how much is the fare before asking! You shouldn't be paying over 100-160 pesos if you're not going too far. Avoid getting scammed ;) Another option for you is to rent a car, if you are confident enough to drive around Tagaytay, although we would not recommend for you to drive around Manila if you don't have any prior experience. Feel free to reach out to Paula if you have any questions or need any help!
Rental Car
Located in: Brittany Hotel BGC Address: DUSIT D2, 6 McKinley Pkwy, Manila, 1634 Closed ⋅ Opens 9 AM Phone: 0953 243 2605 #1. If you would like to drive a car at some point (driving to/from Tagaytay), I would recommend this Hertz location. There are some sketchy rental car places at the airport per the reviews I have seen. #2. All you need is your regular US driver license to be able to rent a car. #3. We would recommend going on YouTube and researching on the driving culture in the Philippines if it is your first time there.
House Or Rental
When you arrive Manila before February 21st and would like to go around, we would recommend for you to stay in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). It is very clean and safe to go around. Airbnb is a great place to look for lodging. Here are my top recommendations to search for in Airbnb, as BGC is usually our home base when we travel to the Philippines: #1. Uptown Parksuites Tower 1 or Tower 2 (across the street from Xylo club and Uptown Malls, Mitsubishi (Japanese) Mall). There are a lot of great restaurants around. #2. Venice Luxury Residences (across the street from Venice Grand Canal Mall). Additional tips: #1. We would recommend for you to filter in your Airbnb app for a laundry machine if you plan to do any kind of laundry. #2. Make sure you disclose the right amount of headcount when renting. They can be very strict, depending on what buildings you rent from.
House Or Rental
If you want to stay in Tagaytay Town Proper closer to more malls and restaurants, we would recommend the following: #1. Search for "Ayala Malls Serin, Tagaytay, Cavity" using the Airbnb App so you are closer to the mall. #2. Anya Resort Tagaytay #3. Taal Vista Hotel If you want to stay around the area where the wedding will be held: #1. Tagaytay Highlands: This will be the closest option to the venue. To book, download the "Viber" app and message Armin Marasigan (Phone #: +639175634766) if they have any units available closer to the venue (this will probably be not likely since there's only a limited slot). Mention that you are going to Paula and Arizona's wedding on 2/22/2024. #2. Airbnb and search for "Tagaytay Highlands". #3. Crosswinds Resort Tip and Recommendations: #1. For reference, this is where the bride and groom will stay. Make sure you search the location from the chapel or venue for the distance and plan for a driver/food/etc. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Np8LC8A6PZ7MG5vp7 #2. We actually would recommend for you to stay in Tagaytay Town proper if you would like to go around and explore before or after the wedding. If you don't mind not exploring, then you can stay closer to the wedding venue.
