Monticello
A morning tour of Thomas Jefferson’s house will give you incredible views of Charlottesville on all sides, as well as a good dose of US History! We recommend buying tickets online in advance, and it’s only a 10min drive/Uber from the hotel blocks and recs! :) *$42/person for a guided tour (morning/early-afternoon), $32/person self-guided tour (afternoons only).
Jefferson Vineyards
Beautiful and low-key vineyard right next to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello! Fantastic wines and tasting options (& not too pricey)! About 10 minute drive/uber from downtown Charlottesville and hotel blocks & recs!
Unlocked History Escape Rooms
If you're into games and have a free hour, this escape room is worth it!! Not only is it where we got engaged, the owner is a mechanical engineer, so the rooms are all really cool and different from other escape rooms we've done. If you have your choice, the "Raven" Edgar Allan Poe room is our favorite!!!
The Love Butt
Take a pic with the love butt - A 1,600-pound, ten-foot-tall pink keister with a heart tattoo was hauled from LA to NYC for a cable comedy show pilot. After much on-camera hilarity, the butt was left here, permanently, in September 2015. Super weird. Don’t forget to tag us in that pic haha. (Walkable from hotel blocks)
Hazy Mountain Vineyards & Brewery
The wine is just fine, but the views and photo-ops are amazing! It'll take a 30min uber to get out there, but if you've got extra time on Sunday or plan to come in early, it's a beautiful spot to spend a day!
Iron Paffles & Coffee
Great spot for a casual and yummy brunch! Owned by one of our friends & we recommend the chicken & waffles paffle - super savory & a delicious treat! (Walkable from hotel blocks & recs!)

O'Suzannah for Littles
Anyone with children or with children they like to shop for…this is the BEST baby shop! :) They also have a non-baby version - so just a super cute gift shop - around the corner! (Walkable from hotel blocks & recs!)
Citizen Burger Bar
One of our favorite spots for nice burgers on the downtown mall (easy walk from hotel blocks). Our favorite order is the shishito peppers to start and we both get the Dar Salad (Patton gets it without tomatoes because, well, ew. Dalton orders it as-is!) Delicious option for lunch or dinner! Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint Cville
The perfect cheap, delicious late-night bite on the downtown mall (walkable from hotel blocks). We'll probably be hitting this up during/after the after-party! (Walkable from hotel blocks & recs!)
Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail
A nice and easy low-elevation change hike through a historic train tunnel. You can experience true darkness in the middle! A fun and different hiking experience that's easy to get to. Wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty :)

Dairy Market Charlottesville
Cute indoor food hall with lots of options to eat from casual to nice. There’s also South Street Brewery inside for local beer, Tillmans’s bar for fancy cocktails, and MooThru for ice cream! (There are two upscale boutiques for shopping too, if you’re in the mood). Walkable from hotel blocks and recs! A little further than other things, it's a little less than a mile from the downtown mall, but there is a sidewalk the whole way!
Kardinal Hall
Great spot to grab a beer and play board games, ping pong, or bocce! Modeled after a German beer hall. There's a thai place next door called Pineapple Thai Kitchen, if you're not feeling burgers/bar food.
Ten
SUPER cute and vibey sushi spot on the downtown mall, great drinks too! City feel in our little town :)
Now & Zen
Our favorite sushi spot for a low-key vibe! (Walkable from all hotel recommendations) We went here on our second date! Ask for the John roll (it's off-menu, salmon, mango, avocado roll), it's SO good!
The Bebedero
We went here for our first date (in the old location above whiskey jar!) - great margaritas and yucca fries :) Also on the downtown mall!
Barracks Road Shopping Center
Awesome walkable shopping area only a 5min drive from downtown (the hotels)! Has shops like Anthropologie, Athleta, Ulta, Madewell, etc. And The Virginia Shop boasts tons of fun souvenirs and gifts!
