Ryan and Rachel met back in 2012 through Rachel's best friend and Ryan's neighbor, Emily Skelly. Ryan had decided to go up and explore Alaska while Rachel decided to pursue her cosmetology license. They both stayed in touch and made a bet if Ryan made enough money he would buy her a ring, and if she made enough money she would buy him a boat. Throughout their years they became close, keeping in contact every now and again. Seeing each other more often due to being in the same friend group. In 2017, Rachel decided to move to Colorado, but before she did feelings started to develop into more than friends. She left, he worked, and they lost touch for a few months. Things had changed and Rachel decided to move home. May 2018, Ryan reached out to Rachel and the rest was history. The stars aligned and the timing was right. March 2019, Ryan bought a house in Bloomington, then in June had asked Rachel to move in...as he moved out to work in Kansas. Ryan moved home the following summer as did their new roommates, Emily and Nita. Ryan then left for Fargo, and Rachel stuck it out keeping the house a home for Ryan to come home to on the weekends. Throughout the last few years Ryan and Rachel have been able to learn a lot about each other, how to manage a home, how to manage long distance, and what it is like to remodel a home on their own. Due to the long distance they have also learned how to embrace moments, take time for themselves, and appreciate the time they have together. Travel has been one thing they both have been lucky to experience. From visiting family in Arizona and Alaska, taking trips to the beach in Alabama, or seeing the island life in soon to be Hawaii 2025. But also the small trips, the important weekend get aways to the cabin. Golfing in the afternoon together, finding a new fishing spot, or going back to the local Sports Page to have a burger and play some pull tabs, they find ways to stay connected. Whether it's with friends, family, or just themselves, they always find a way to have a good time and embrace the time spent together.
