Alyssa and Henry first met in college at George Mason University. Although they were studying entirely different disciplines, by a twist of fate, they became members of the same honor fraternity. That was where they met and where Alyssa caught Henry’s eye. He soon asked her if she would accompany him to the finest establishment around…The Silver Diner! They had breakfast for dinner and really enjoyed each other’s company. After graduating from GMU, Alyssa began her career as a cyber security engineer, and Henry began his career in human resources. They spent most of their time together and grew very close to each other. They bonded over cooking together and trying new recipes. Alyssa likes to say that she won Henry’s heart when she made him arroz con habichuelas (rice and beans) for the first time! In January of 2022, not only did they move in together; they also adopted a dog and named her Dixie. Henry knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Alyssa, and began looking for the perfect engagement ring. He proposed to Alyssa at a local winery. They walked along the winery fence line where the Blue Ridge mountains were on the horizon. Henry finally got up the nerve to pop the question and Alyssa excitedly responded, “Oh my God, yes!” They are excited for their friends and family to celebrate their union as they say “I do,” and begin their new life together.
