For the longest time, Ashley's story was that she met Ryan out one night at a bar in the South Side of Pittsburgh. In reality, Ashley and Ryan met on a dating app (one Ashley's mom told her not to use - sorry not sorry, Mom!). Despite how ridiculous Ryan thought Ashley was for not just telling the truth, he tried his best to keep her cover - but let's be honest - if you were to ask Ashley's friends, based on her dance skills alone, Ashley was never going to meet her future husband out in the South Side. Ashley and Ryan "matched" a couple times on this dating app. The first time they matched, they instantly connected over their mutual high school alma mater and the argument class they took together. Nothing ever amounted the first time around, and Ashley was extremely disappointed that Ryan didn't ask her out. The second time, Ryan was sure to make his move. Not easily, because Ashley blew him off six times before agreeing to a date (pharmacy school was hard, guys!)! Ryan was persistent, and Ashley eventually put her studying off to go out for drinks with Ryan. They hit it off right away! Shortly after they began dating, Ryan got their amazing fur baby, Tank, and together the two of them completely sealed the deal.

After nearly four years of dating, Ryan and Ashley purchased and moved into their first home together. Since they closed on their house, Ashley was hoping an engagement would be in their future. On the morning of April 9th, 2021, Ashley was off work and taking full advantage of her opportunity to sleep-in and stay cozy in bed. Little did she know, Ryan was downstairs all morning with the ring waiting to pop the question. Eventually, Ryan was too excited to wait any longer, so he went and woke her up with the best surprise ever! Ashley had bedhead and morning breath, and Ryan didn't want her any other way. To add to the surprise, Ryan planned a party with their families that night and a huge party at their house the following day. We are so happy we were able to share our happiness and excitement with our loved ones that weekend, and we are even more thrilled to share our special day with you all soon!
