Bride
Tim and I have shared some incredible times; however, there is one time that will NEVER be forgotten. My best friend Abby is a drama teacher in Guildford County schools. Tim went with me to her musical. This would be their first meeting too ... while Abby is desperately trying to wrangle students, entertain parents, and run a show ... bless her heart! Tim and I were in the second row, center section, and we were thoroughly enjoying the show. Intermission came, and Mandi looked over to the left to talk to Tim and that is when it happened ... This beautiful, blonde haired boy, about 2 years old turned around ... with the most crossed eyes I have ever seen. Tim and I laughed so hard we could not contain ourselves for the rest of the show, every time he turned around.

Abby and Mandi attended Appalachian State University together as theatre majors. They were in the same Intro to Design class, the hardest class in the major, and the prerequisite to all other classes. There were many a night spent in the Design classroom trying to finish up the final project which consisted of designing/building a set and costumes for Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Abby chose to do Stonehenge as her setting. She worked so hard getting all of the stones perfectly shaped and placed. And then, at about 2 or 3 in the morning, Stonehenge fell. . . It was devastating. We scrambled to try to get it in a workable presentation for the final presentation later that morning. Though there were blood, sweat, and lots of tears, it was the start to an amazing friendship.
Best Man
I knew that when we went to the virtual reality room in Durham and you all were slaying orcs together, it was serious.

Justin and Mandi have been working together for four years. For the last two years, Tim has also had the pleasure working with him. Through many ups and a few downs, Justin has become a brother to Mandi. Last summer, a group of friends went out to see a band in Greensboro. Coming back to the hotel, the boys (Justin and Tim) were kindly carrying the ladies' purses with their matching red shirts. A classic photo resulted from the night that brings a smile every time.

I haven't known Tim for that long, so I can't say there are many funny moments between us yet. Mandi on the other hand . . . Oh my gosh, we have had SOOO many funny jokes together. But, I will share one of our favorites. We were in the grocery store, Mandi was home from college, and we went to the bread aisle. I picked up a loaf of bread and the WHOLE thing came falling out all over the floor. I was doubled over laughing, and my ever-so-loving daughter just cracked up and rolled off with the buggy while I stood there stunned and laughing in the aisle.

Tim was about 2 years old when I was at the peak of my hobby, painting with acrylic paint. Jan was out for the afternoon, and I was painting while Tim played happily next to me. The phone rang, and as I talked, Tim was out of my line of sight. When I hung up and returned, he was covered in black paint. It was everywhere. I picked him up and took him to the nearest bathtub, stripped off his clothes and plopped him in the tub…. He turned the water black, the tub black, and me black. There was nothing I could do but jump in the tub with him…. We called it Black Saturday from then on.
Father of the Bride
(Deceased) Though he left us too soon, my father was an incredibly smart man with a great sense of humor. He loved Jimmy Buffet and Elvis. He ate a bag of popcorn and watched the news nightly. And, he loved airplanes! One of my fondest memories occurred when I was very young, maybe 7 or 8. He always dreamed of having a '57 Chevy, and he acquired a fixer upper. He wanted to take my cousins and me to Texas to see his family. The windshield wipers were not working right (thank you RainX!), but that didn't stop us in the pouring rain. We barreled through the Houma Tunnel in his Chevy; he had on pilot goggles with his head out the window to see better. At the very top of our lungs, we screamed the words to "Born to be Wild" as we passed through the tunnel, with our voices echoing back at us.
