HOW TO GET THERE: From Poipu Road past the Grand Hyatt Kauai, turn right onto Ainakoa St. Follow the road past the tennis courts and to the end of the road, where you'll find a public parking lot. Locals named the beach because of an old shipwreck that once rested nearby. Although the wreckage is long gone, it remains a favorite spot for visitors who love hiking and exploring the rugged shoreline.

"Grand Canyon of the Pacific" Lots of fun hikes and lookouts! Stop off at the various lookouts for sweeping views of the canyon. Most of the canyon lookout points will be obvious and have paved parking. Continue on Highway 550 until it ends at the lookout for Kalalau Valley. We recommend downloading the app "all trails" to see all available hikes near you!

This historic plantation in Lihue now spans 105 acres and offers visitors a glimpse at Hawaii's sugarcane history, which dates to the 1860s. Visitors ride mahogany-lined passenger train cars along the property's 2 ½ miles of railroad tracks, where bananas, mangos, papayas, pineapples, sugarcane, taro and other essential Hawaiian crops grow. Along the 40-minute ride, conductors provide narration regarding the various sights, which include animals like goats, pigs and sheep that you'll be able to feed during a stop!

The Kalaulau trail is one of the most famous and stunning hiking trails in the world! An 11 mile stretch leads you to Kalaulau Beach, where advanced hikers will camp and head back the next day. You can hike in as far as you'd like, no need to go the whole 11 miles. We recommend the 2 mile hike to Hanakapiai beach (not swimmable) for gorgeous views and an incredible time. Total time: 4 hours Note: The trail requires a reservation - book out 1 month in advance to save a spot. You won't be disappointed!
This beach is compromised of four beaches. It is beautiful for walking, jogging, surfing, boogie boarding, lounging, it's the best! Parking is available at black pot, pavilions and pine trees. Sunrise is the best time to see rainbows and sea turtles.
Tunnels Beach is a secluded beach on the eastern coast of Kaua'i. The beach features a dark jungle backdrop with an oceanfront crescent shaped beach.
