As it turns out, Tony and Hannah were acquaintances for years before they actually knew each other. They are both part of the Maven Optics team and had been included in various group emails to the team members. However, apart from following each other on social media at the request of Maven, they had never talked. It wasn't until Hannah saw an Instagram story of Tony hunting deer in South Dakota (a license she also had and planned to hunt in a few weeks) that they had their first interaction. Hannah reached out to Tony with a DM of "Hey, how's the rut activity over there?"

Tony knew that Hannah hated the idea of public proposals, so when they were lucky enough to both draw an archery elk license for the Big Horn Mountains, he figured that could be the perfect occasion. They would be secluded in the mountains, enjoying an activity they both loved. On the first morning of their elk hunt, while standing on the edge of a beautiful clearing, Tony took the opportunity to get down on one knee and ask Hannah to spend the rest of her life with him.
