We're so excited to share a few of our favorite places with you. Below we have included places close to the hotel and others that require a 20-25 minute drive to get closer to the city.

Country Club Plaza

Kansas City's Premier Destination for shopping, it has a storied history built around Spanish Architecture. It is a great spot to grab some coffee and walk around to check out the different buildings

Loose Park

5200 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64112

Jacob L. Loose Park is one of Kansas City’s most popular, beautiful and historical parks. The park is well-known locally as being a major site for the Battle of Westport where Confederate forces were routed by Union forces in the area in which the park is now located. This is a great place to have a picnic or go for a walk! The Country Club Plaza is also right down the street for food, drinks, and shopping before or after visitng the park.

Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

Beautiful gardens and great hiking trails! It's a must visit every time we are in KC. Tip, the trails are through large gates to keep the deer out of the garden so don't pass those by, humans can enter through the gates.

Chicken N Pickle- Overland Park

Casual Animal Brewing Co

This is our favorite brewery in KC. Awesome and unique space, tasty beer, and a cool area to walk around with great restaurants.

Boulevard Brewing Company

Kansas City's most famous brewery! This brewery is a quick drive from Casual Animal. The tour here is top notch and you get tons of free tastings. They also have a great beer hall with a view of the city.

Aubrey Vineyards

There are a number of beautiful wineries in the area. Aubrey Vineyards has been our recent local favorite and is the closest to the hotel. Other wineries we love include Bourgmont Winery (15 min), Serendipity (12 min), Somerset Ridge Vineyard & Winery, and Nighthawk Vineyard & Winery.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

Known for the giant Shuttlecocks installation out front (go on and take a selfie), the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art houses nearly 40,000 works of art. Home to ancient and contemporary collections and an extensive collection of Asian art, the Nelson is regarded as one of the best museums in the country, and admission is totally free.

Green Lady Lounge

One of the best place to catch live jazz in the city, with red velvet walls and a basement dimly lit by golden chandeliers. It feels more like a 1920s speakeasy than a modern bar in a buzzing city.

Westport Cafe

This is one of our favorite restaurants in KC focused on French Cuisine. Negro Leagues Baseball Museum

Head to the historic district of 18th & Vine, which was the center for Black culture and life in Kansas City from the late 1800s to the 1960s, to take a self-guided tour of African-American baseball’s rich history at the NLBM. The multimedia displays, collections of photos and artifacts, and film exhibits tell the complete story of Negro Leagues Baseball, from average players to superstars. Don’t miss the field of 12 bronze sculptures and the museum store.

National WWI Museum and Memorial

Check out the world-class collection of WWI memorabilia at the National World War I Museum and Memorial. The tour starts with a short introductory film, followed by an exploration of the different uniforms, weapons and paraphernalia of the time. Also learn about the geopolitical causes of the Great War through short films, storyboards, maps and timelines. Be sure to check out the fantastic view of the city from Liberty Tower, a monument commemorating those who served in the war.
