Clement and Olivia are so excited to celebrate with you all as they honor the cultures and backgrounds that brought them together and made them who they are today. Clement was born in Niger and moved to Nigeria when we was 10. He then came to the United States when he was 15 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in Greensboro, NC. Olivia was born and adopted from Mozambique and moved around internationally until her father retired from the Foreign Service when she was 14. Her family decided to settle down in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and she went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Global Studies from UNC Chapel Hill, and also received her Masters in International Business from UNC Greensboro. One day in October 2017 (October 7 to be exact), Clement and Olivia were both spending time with their friends when they happened to meet at an A&T Homecoming event. They had their first dance, exchanged numbers so that they could get to know each other, and the rest is history! As their first date, Clement and Olivia decided to meet halfway and spend some time getting to know each other while bowling and walking around Tanger Outlets in Mebane, NC. That date marked the beginning of their journey and over the next six years, Clement and Olivia spent their time together visiting new countries, trying new restaurants, and supporting each other through graduations, professional shifts and new career opportunities. Clement and Olivia have also spent these past 6 years meeting each other’s family and friends, and are grateful for the community they have behind them and in support of their love. On their fifth anniversary, Clement took Olivia to their favorite restaurant in Raleigh, NC, and got down on one knee to pop the question and start the new chapter they both had been waiting for.
