Among the most popular areas are Palermo, La Recoleta, Puerto Madero and Downtown. There are several hotel and AirB&B options, including beautiful boutique ones. International residents can get the IVA tax deducted at check out if they pay with an international credit card – check that out. Hotels usually display tariffs in USD, but if you pay in cash, you’ll benefit from the difference in the official exchange rate to the parallel market exchange rate (“Dollar Blue” as called) – make sure to ask about that. Some international credit cards will use an intermediate exchange rate (close but not as good as 'blue' but better than the official one - check that out).
Buenos Aires has a wide range of culinary options: you can't go wrong. Make sure you try empanadas, and of course the beef and wines. Dinner is usually served 8pm until 1am. ✔ Hop-on Hop-Off city tour: Visit the most emblematic landmarks such as Plaza de Mayo, Teatro Colon, Recoleta Cemetery, Cathedral, Japanese Gardens, MALBA Museum, San Telmo and La Boca. ✔ Tango Shows: There is nothing more quintessentially Buenos Aires than tango. “Rojo Tango” at Faena Hotel, “La Ventana” and “El Viejo Almacén del Tango” are favorites. ✔ Estancias: Enjoy horse riding, a traditional “asado” and “empanadas” within a short distance from the city.
