Matron of Honor
How did I meet Nicki? Well....the love that we share now was not present when we first met. From what I remember...she was was in a study room at Volker Hall (where the UAB medical students live their first two years) with a couple other girlfriends studying. I came in to chat with a mutual friend and she was as COLD AS ICE! Did not really even acknowledge my presence! I honestly thought she was too cool for school and she claims that she thought the same of me but somewhere along the way we connected and have been attached since. It has been over ten years of friendship and cannot wait for the next 50+
Best Man
Courtney and I first met back in the 5K Advent days. I usually do not tell people that I went to Advent, but I feel the need to be honest here. Our paths crossed again in 1999 at Indian Springs. I had all the friends I wanted at the time, so did not expect to meet any lifelong friends. I could not have been more wrong. Courtney is one of the most hardworking, loyal, intelligent and compassionate people that I know. Although he is younger than me he has always had an old soul. I often looked to him for guidance on how to handle situations. I am so happy that Courtney and Nicki found each other. It is an honor to participate in the wedding and I look forward to watching their relationship continue to grow well into the future.
Maid of Honor
I met Nicki ~10 yrs ago when I moved from LA to Bham. When we met, she was preoccupied with school and had no time for a new girl. The way to Nicki's heart is through delicious food, a great sense of humor (fortunately my best attributes) and maybe a drink or 7 soaring us to instant besties. She's “Mama Nguyen” to all her friends; she’s selfless (to a fault at times & I’m the ruthless one to tell her) her ability to care and listen to others is rare. We've been through many milestones together, some joyous and others we thought would be the death of us. Our friendship is iron-clad because we have each other’s back; ride or die boss ladies for life! For how ‘basic’ Nicki is, her dynamic positive energy and my realist ‘rip the band-aid off’ attitude makes us a perfect sweet & savory mix.
Best Man
Courtney and I first met back in 9th grade when he started school at Indian Springs. I distinctly remember having a party at my house that somehow Courtney did not receive his invite for. This obviously was not on purpose but ultimately became a way for us to bond (after a few apologies), and we quickly became the best of friends. Whether it was playing basketball together at Springs, visiting each other in college, going to law school together at Alabama, spending weekends at the lake, or working together over the summers, our friendship is a special one that has stood the test of time. I can't wait to be a part of he and Nicki's big day!
Bridesmaid
Cyndi is sister #5. She lives in Grapevine, TX with her husband John Gartman and two children, Chance and Reese. She is technically the "middle child" as she falls right in the middle of 9 children but happens to be the smallest! You can find her in the middle of the dance floor practicing her new bollywood dance moves!

I remember meeting uncle playa Courtney during freshmen orientation walking down the hallway of Palmer hall at Rhodes with samurai jack Afro, Wolverine mutton chops, and I’m pretty sure a leather jacket in the summer walking with such awkward confidence. I never imagined the close relationship we would form from bus parties, beer pong, late night studying, trying to dunk in BCLC and being pseudo weightlifters. I’m so happy to see the transformation to uncle married Courtney and wish you much love and happiness
Bridesmaid
Hai is sister #6 and her name means "ocean", that's because she was born on the water when my family fled from Vietnam! She lives in Trussville, AL with her husband Mark and two children, Nikolos and Christian. Her nickname is "surround sound" so you won't have any issues (maybe some hearing loss) figuring out which sister she is.

We met in 1993, playing ball in the PKV (IYKYK). CD’s granddad didn’t want him to play with me and other neighborhood boys because he worried we were bad influences-at the time- he was right. I learned my 1st lesson in CD’s loyalty when we asked him to ignore Mr. Prayer and come hoop-he refused. His loyalty frustrated me that day, but that same trait has been a blessing to me over the last 25 years and is why his friends and loved ones always have his back. We attended Springs together- shared church services, b-ball and spring break trips. I realized the true depth of his character. CD’s humility, fairness, temperament and humor have helped so many of us navigate life decisions and difficulties with the benefit of his wisdom and grace. I’m thrilled to help CD and Nicki celebrate their day
Bridesmaid
Kim is sister #7. She is immediately before Nicki. She lives in Birmingham, AL with her husband Si and their three children, Makenzie, Aubrie and Jackson. Be careful, she may try to feed you at some point in the night. At lease she's a sharer, right?
Groomsman
My name is Brad Davis. I met Courtney through my brother Eddie when they were both high school students at Indian Springs. Now we've been friends nearly 20 years, or maybe even longer. I’ve gotten to know Courtney and become good friends with himthroughout the years through tmany trips , hanging out and about in Birmingham, visiting Denver, and supporting each other through the good and sometimes difficult times. He been a good friend for a very long time and I consider him a brother more than a friend.

Vicki is the baby of the family, but don't let that fool you, she's no baby! She lives in Hoover, AL with her husband Henry and three children, Jaden, Emma and Cole. She stands her own, has a mini-me (Emma) and is probably one of the few people who can tell the difference between her son Cole's resting face and a smile =D ...

I could not give you an exact date of when my cousin and I first met. I can tell you though that we have been together for our entire lives as far back as I can remember. We had other cousins, but they were many years older. Although he is my second cousin he is more like a little brother. We grew up in different worlds- him in Bham and me in Hoover; me deploying to multiple counties while he was in college and law school- but we always found a way to connect. We both wanted to do something that meant something, helped society and be of service to the country or community. We have both succeeded in these desires. I can say I am proud of my little brother for being the man we all knew he would be and finding such an amazing woman like Nicki to spend his life. Congrats little brother!

I first met Nicki during medical school orientation when she was very mean to me and later said mean things about my shoes. (If you ask Nicki to tell the story, she completely turns it around, so don't believe her version.) I'm still not quite over it, but I like a good party, so here I am. Nicki, I love you so big. I'm so excited for you two, and can't wait to see what you build together. xx

Courtney and I met eight years ago at a work conference in Colorado. Who would have thought that a Southern guy from Alabama and an Upstate New York guy would have so much in common? Our passion for football and good food (sometimes too much good food!) on Saturdays made us instantly inseparable, almost to a fault. You wouldn’t even recognize us anymore, he has the picture to prove it! Courtney is one of the most genuine people I know, he is the type of person who would drop everything in an instant if you need his help and I truly value our friendship. I am so excited and honored to be a part of his big day!!
Bridesmaid
Howdy! I'm Tiff. I consider myself an explorer at heart and live in Phoenix, Arizona. I was first introduced to Nicki (aka "Mama Nic") at a social in Birmingham in 2007 when she was a medical student. I vividly remember that she wore an emerald-green dress and had one of the most carefree laughs I had ever heard. She truly was the life of the party that night -- and still is. Over the last 12 years, Nic and I have shared adventures in Birmingham, Mobile, Charleston, Dallas, Phoenix, Sedona, Denver, Las Vegas, Seattle, Rhode Island, and New York City. I'm incredibly honored and excited to be a part of Nic's next adventure down the aisle in May 2020!

I met Courtney on the first day of freshmen move-in at Rhodes College. I walked into the dorm with my family and was greeted by a buff brother in a snug Indian Springs shirt. His tight ‘fro and chops had me wondering “is this undercover brother 2.0?” I didn’t know what to think at first, but Courtney immediately won me over as he helped me move into the dorm. Now 15(ish) years later, I have countless memories with Courtney—experiences that have shaped my life in immeasurable ways. I feel fortunate to have such a great friend in Courtney and excited for the upcoming union and next chapter in his life with Nicki.
Bridesmaid
Sharonda lives in Birmingham, where she and Nicki met years ago through mutual friends. They quickly bonded over Rihanna, cheesy romance novels, a steady stash of Zyrtec, and late-night dance parties. Sharonda was also present for one of the best moments in Nicki and Courtney’s early days, when a sunglasses-wearing post-call Nicki fell asleep mid-conversation with Courtney. He was so enchanted that he didn’t even notice.
Groomsman
Eric met Courtney shortly after graduating high school in the Summer of 2003 where they (and a few other groomsmen) worked extremely hard basically running a law firm and eating Gus’s Hot dogs as summer interns. The next sixteen years were very eventful. Courtney introduced Eric to his wife, but those years also saw them in a few other roles including stints as wing connoisseurs, roommates and kitten rescuers all while Eric mentored Courtney on how to stay in shape. Eric prides himself on inviting Nicki to that football game in September of 2014 where she met Courtney. Who knew? Eric did. Eric looks forward to visiting the happy couple in Denver, one day.

I'm a nurse in NYC, and I live in Brooklyn with my husband, Ben, and our adorable plants. I first met Nicki in 2007 at a house party in Birmingham. Initially, I didn’t know what to do with her silver/grey eyeballs, and I’m sure she didn’t know what to do with my dancing chicken legs. Luckily, even with our quirky ways, we became close friends during my time in Birmingham. Long distance friendships can be tough, but we made it a priority to visit and catch up often. We ventured through our twenties—and survived—always with bellies full of food and laughter. Grateful to have her as a sister friend!
Groomsman
Courtney and I are basically from the same neighborhood in Birmingham. We knew of each other but did not truly become friends until he joined us at Rhodes College in 2003. Courtney has always been the type of person that you can talk to about anything. He is extremely caring, sometimes to a fault, and loyal to everyone around him. I have only had the pleasure of meeting Nicki a couple of times and could tell instantly that she and Courtney have a special bond. I am very happy for them both and am truly honored to be a part of their union. I wish you two the absolute best!

I first met Nicki our freshman year of college in a freshman organization called Texas F.I.R.S.T. We became good friends when we were in the same chemistry class that second semester. Later we were roommates our third and fourth years of college. From then on, we were always studying together late into the night, on the hunt for free food on campus, running for the bus because we were usually late for something and having fun adventures. Since watching the Anne of Green Gables tapes she loved so much together, we have been forever bosom friends!
Groomsman
Courtney and I first met in college at Rhodes. Although I was a year ahead of him, I had already known of him well before he got there. His high school friend, Eddie Davis, and I started together at Rhodes. All throughout our freshman year Eddie kept talking about his homeboy Courtney, and that he was coming to Rhodes the following year. I could immediately tell Courtney was a good guy after first meeting him. We have since shared many memories together from college bus parties, drinking 40 ounces and binge watching One Tree Hill with the roommates, Alabama football games, weddings, bachelor party trips, etc. Courtney is one of the most genuine and caring people that I know, and I have no doubt that he will make a great husband for Nicki. I am honored to be apart of this special day.
Bridesmaid
Nicki and Linda met during college and became increasingly close during Nicki’s senior year. Their love of food, adventure, travel and intense planning skills made for some epic trips. Through several states, many moves and countless stories later, they remained forever longhorn buddies. Nicki + Linda + tequila = Zofran kind of morning with some dancing and food somewhere in between.
Groomsman
Courtney and Sean met their sophomore year at ISS when Sean transferred to the school. Junior year they became roommates and spent many a night falling asleep to smooth R&B. They didn’t live together their senior year (something Courtney still holds against Sean), but their friendship continued to grow. Over the years their friendship has been marked by Sean constantly trying to push Courtney out of his comfort zone and Courtney reminding Sean that not everyone has to do things like him. They fight like brothers, but support each other like family as well
Honor Attendant
He's our main boy and is with us in spirit. He sends his barks and love.
