Travel & Stay

The Wedding Website of Logan Brantley and Nicholas Cabral
Thank you for considering the travel to Portugal for our wedding! Our wedding festivities will take place in Estoril and Cascais (pronounced Kash-Ki-sssh). The two cities are nestled within a mile together as the "Coast of Kings". Cascais has an old town charm (think cobblestones) and Estoril is right next door, sporting villas and wide boardwalks. We recommend folks stay in the ample hotels within the Cascais-Estoril area. The wedding party will be staying at The Pergola Hotel in Cascais City Centre.

Flight

Lisbon

Guests will want to fly into Lisbon International Airport (LIS), it is the main airport about 20-30 minutes from the Cascais-Estoril area depending on traffic. We recommend using a cab to get from the airport to your accommodation. International flight reservations typically open 12 months in advance. We recommend that you buy flights 4-7 months prior to travel. Please note that our Rehearsal Dinner & Welcome Party are on Thurs, Sept. 19th and our wedding is on Fri, Sept. 20th. Many flights from the US to Portugal are "red-eyes" there is a 9 hour time difference from US West Coast to PT and 6 hours from US East Coast to PT. Sites like Google Flights have “watch” features that tell you when you might get the best deal to book your flight. They also share with you whether the current price you’re viewing is above, below or about average cost.

Although there are beautiful countryside villas as well, we recommend staying in town for transportation convenience and walkability.

Travel Note

Getting Around Cascais-Estoril

Ubers, taxis, tuktuks and buses are used in Cascais and Estoril. The suburban tram along the coast has local stops that make getting around easy as well. From our venue into Cascais is only a 4 minute ride! 3 important stops: Cascais - old town where many shops and restaurants are located. Monte Estoril - this will take you to the Inter-Continental Hotel where we’ll be hosting our Rehearsal Dinner followed by our Welcome Party Estoril - you’ll arrive at this stop 50 feet away from Forte da Cruz No need to pre-book for the local train, however you might want to pre-book for travel outside the city if you'd like to go exploring during your free time.

Train

Day-trips to Sintra and Lisbon

We think that you will be plenty satisfied with Cascais and Estoril, but for guests who want to explore more of Portugal during the wedding festivity down-time, Lisbon and Sintra are beautiful options! Getting to Lisbon by car or train The train leaves every 40 minutes & is about 2-4 euro Lisbon (Lisboa) is a lively urban city in Portugal. Tuktuks and trams help folks to navigate the cobblestone hills of the city. There are ample good restaurants and a healthy nightlife scene in Lisbon. As with any big city, be mindful of pick-pockets. Our favorite things about Lisbon are the architectural tile work, bougainvillea overhangs and spotting peacocks in the trees there! Getting to Sintra Sintra is an even closer commute from Cascais and Estoril. It is also hilly but more rural. Bus or Cab is the best mode of transport, a cab taking only 13 minutes. Sintra is known for its stunning castles. Pena Palace sports a real-life candyland color scheme and, for more adventurous folks, climbing the Moorish Castle will leave you with breathtaking views.
