Nich: So, I had been on Match.com for a couple of months and hadn’t exactly found what I was looking for. I decided to give it one more month and the next day I found a message in my inbox. I thought I was being catfished; no way was this beautiful girl interested in me. I was pleasantly surprised when we met at a parking structure in Ann Arbor. We enjoyed a night at Mash and Felicia’s favorite restaurant that no longer exists, Max and Ermas. Felicia: I’d spent some time on Match.com, coming up on about a year. After many bad dates, and no responses I came across this guy who was quite handsome, appeared fun, smart and athletic/active. Oh and he actually chose “Black/African American” along with all the ethnicities which told me he was intentional (unlike many who say “no preference” to save face). We met up after I got out of work at AT&T (at the time), ran into each other at the parking structure, to which he seemed surprised. (He thought I might be catfishing him) Haha! Enjoyed some dinner at Mash and later enjoyed Sangrias at Max & Erma’s. The rest is our story. 😉🥰
Thinking we were going for Heidi’s (Nich’s Mom’s) surprise birthday party, I anticipated meeting a ton of people - both friends and family. We’re eating and enjoying ourselves and Nich goes to announce how much he & Noah appreciate everyone coming out for Heidi’s surprise birthday party and suddenly he says, “Felicia, would you come up here with me?” I thought, “Why would he want me to come up there?” While thinking I begin to approach him and then I suddenly feel very hot because my next thought was, “Is he doing what I think he’s doing?!” As I listen to his words...”we’ve been through so much together these past four years...” “Oh, my G-d, he IS!!” He says my name, gets down on one knee and I’m like “YES!” One of the few times I’ve ever been so overjoyed and speechless that I gave him the biggest smile, braced myself, gave him my hand and shook my head and said YES!
