Niav and Cheryl initially met through the Elkton 8 crew at University of Maryland in 2001. They first bonded over a game of ping-pong in the lounge and never looked back. The friendship and life-long bond was nurtured and solidified with 9 years of co-habitation. We supported ones another through good times and bad and there were numerous road trips and travel all over the country over the years - most notably including Hawaii, Panama City Beach, Seattle, Anne Arbor, and Boston. There was also very special trip to Ireland in 2012 where Cheryl met many of Niav's extended family and also took to the wheel on the other side of the road like a fish to water! A natural Raven's fan, Cheryl is also an honorary member of the DC Bills Backers crew. Without a doubt, Cheryl is chosen family.

Niav’s exceptionally talented brother - among his many talents, professional comic book artist and father to the flower girl, Elowen. Conor is without a doubt family who is a best friend.

Niav and Mo first bonded over a lazy day on the couch and since then have shared countless giggles, adventures and painted every town red! Among her many talents, Mo's ability to get free Southwest drink coupon and know all the (correct) words for road trip sing-a-longs never ceases to amaze making for epic trips to Puerto Rico, Chicago, Charleston, Cleveland (multiple), Atlantic City, Rutherford, Boston and many more. With her own family living far away, Niav has spent many a 'family holiday' with Mo's fam on their couch - coming full circle to the day they first bonded. Mo is also landlord and teacher colleague to our friend Pedro, who is doing us the incredible honor of being our Wedding DJ. Mo is without a doubt chosen family.

Ginalyn and Niav first through the Elkton 8 Crew at University of Maryland in 2001. They first bonded through dance parties in the lounge and since then have been travel partners (Hawaii, Nashville, Orlando, Ann Arbor, Dewey Beach, Ocean City, Panama City Beach) and roommates at many different stages of life. Gina and Niav have been through a lot of alongside one another taking them near and far. We are lucky to now be neighbors living in close proximity to one another. Gina's son, Bradley, is usually MVP of the many parties and infamous 'beerster egg hunt' :P Ginalyn is without a doubt chosen family.

Though not technically a Terp, Deb is one of Niav's "Terp Ladies" having met through theUMD/Elkton 8 crowd. Deb and Niav have shared many a friendship title - Roommate buddy, Road trip buddy, grill and porch beer buddy, musical buddy, dog loving buddy, home improvement buddy, brewery/winery tour buddy. This cherished friendship has grown and evolved through the years and is filled with laughter as well as supportive kindness. Lucky to now live nearby one another offers much opportunity for spontaneous revelry. Without a doubt, Deb is chosen family.

Alister and Niavster met through the Elkton 8 crew at University of Maryland in 2001. They initially bonded through hushed whispers in a dorm stairwell and the rest as they say was history. They are cut from the same cloth and were roommates for many years. There have been memorable trips filled with giggles and revelry starting with a 2002 spring break trip to Panama City Beach, Florida and most recently a trip to Harry Potter World followed by a visit to Niav's parents in St. Augustine. Also, Niav has had the opportunity to spend many a family holiday and a trip to Ocean City with Ali's family. Since being together, Brian and Niav have cherished spending a few Christmas Eve Eve's at Cactus Cantina, a Clarke family tradition. Ali is without a doubt chosen family.
