Elena and Zach both grew up in the rural town of Readington, NJ. Although they both attended the same elementary and middle schools, they weren’t introduced to one another until freshman year of high school in gym class. They hit it off and bonded over similar interests, values, and senses of humor. After spending some time together and becoming better friends, the two jokingly became “married” through the very official means of Facebook the summer after freshman year. As their friendship deepened, they started to fall for one another. Zach asked Elena to be his girlfriend outside of their high school on Elena’s 15th birthday in October of 2010. Quickly, they realized that they were an incredible match for one another, as did others in their circle; Elena and Zach were named Class Couple in high school in 2013. They enjoy craft beer, music, cooking, and attending concerts and festivals for their favorite musicians. Their deeply rooted friendship and love has made for an incredible start to their lives together. They planted roots in the Hudson Valley, NY after graduating from college. Zach proposed to Elena at the top of Storm King Mountain on March 26th, 2018 near their new home. In the summer of 2018, they adopted their loyal and loving black Labradane puppy, Gibson! The two are thrilled to celebrate a lifetime of love, happiness, and friendship together on August 1st, 2020.
