A Celebration of LOVE in Los Alamos

It all started one fine day in May. She was climbing in Ojai -- or rather drinking after climbing. He was surfing, followed by a bike ride with a rag tag crew of surfers and dirtbags to Ojai. A chance meeting that was sparked by a warm smile. Turns out he knew her roommate in Venice, a familiar face in a lineup of surfers and hipsters. He was too shy to ask for her number so he went for the "less forward" approach, taking her phone to follow himself on social media. The start of a journey for two bits of stardust who collided in the figurative and literal sense. As he left, she checked her phone for messages. Debating how to talk with this NYC dancer – he questioned how do I say her name? Turns out Neka is short for Nekayla. It would all be cleared up on a hike to Inspiration Point, which remains an inspiration to this day as it was never reached. As they descended the canyon road– he suggested beer & fries at Neptune’s Net – a classy joint for a first date. YES! She wondered - why this ‘middle age millennial’ had never been engaged? Turns out he was an entrepreneur. Ponderings for another day – she was intrigued enough to entertain a 2nd date. Sans liquid courage she tested his wit and dressed to impress. Many more hikes would follow, as well as laughter and everything they had both been waiting for in life. Higher Love. On paper, the style and grace of Broadway meets the ocean. A collision of design, style, surf – which accurately sums up the Southwest coast of France. This tale was destined to end in France, at a memorable soiree. While plans for France fell apart, we were able to visit Los Alamos in April. We decided it would be our honorary French host for a special weekend this August. We would be overjoyed if you could join us for great food, wine and laughter tucked into the hills of Central California wine country. PS.
