Ontario Wineries
Southwestern Ontario has multiple fantastic wineries within approximately 40 miles of downtown Windsor. Many are located on or or near the picturesque shorelines of Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair. The bride and groom specifically recommend the following: Oxley Estate Winery; Sprucewood Shores Winery (pictured); North 42 Degrees Estate Winery & Bistro; and Viewpointe Estate Winery.
Detroit and Windsor Casinos
Detroit and Windsor are home to multiple upscale casinos. Foremost among them is Caesars Windsor (pictured), conveniently located approximately three blocks from our reception venue in downtown Windsor. Detroit’s offerings include Greektown Casino, Motor City Casino, and MGM Grand Detroit.
All Things Italian
Believe it or not, Windsor and Detroit have fantastic Italian restaurants. Check out Windsor’s famous “Little Italy"—Erie Street—where you'll find numerous, multigenerational Italian restaurants (our favorites are Spago's and Nico Taverna), or head over to Vito's in Windsor's historic Walkerville neighborhood. If you want pizza, Windsor is actually famous for it. The bride and groom's favorites are Antonino's and Amloze. If you're looking for a restaurant in Detroit, check out San Morello, located on the first floor of the beautiful Shinola Hotel. It's where the bride and groom had their first date, and the food is second to none (pictured is their pistachio cake and olive oil gelato).
