She’s got a heart of gold and says cool things like “blind turkey” and “cheese and crackas.” Quite possibly one of the most underrated and hilarious people I’ve ever met. Loyal beyond belief, even when I would try to scare her at night #andtheywereroommates. She was there for me, even when my worst overlapped with the darkest period of her life… My stunning Maid of Honor.

With a truly infectious laugh and the musical abilities of a madman, this girl has it all. She can sing, play piano, host a Bible study, survive many infectious diseases, and look good while doing it. She might even be a government spy… I am not at liberty to discuss… Anyway, she is a sweetheart and a goofball to her core, and I can’t wait to make her cry on the wedding day (tears of joy, of course). Pregnancy hormones might help, in that regard. This woman was my mentor-turned-best-friend, and she will make a beautiful Matron of Honor.
Anna Grace (“AG”)

Former roommate to the bride and the one she can turn to for honest opinions (spoken in love, of course). If you ever see me (bride) in anything remotely flattering or appropriate for the occasion, you can thank AG for her needed intervention during my time in college. She’s passionate about what she believes, and she won’t let you win an argument without a fight, if ever. I never knew a quiet night living with her, but I didn’t want to. She loves so fiercely and always with a servant’s heart. Consider yourself blessed if you ever get a chance to know her. Her go-to karaoke song is “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood, but we might veto for the wedding…for obvious reasons.

Better half to the Best Man (or are they cousins…? Who knows). I have never met someone who listens so intently and offers such thorough and thoughtful advice. She is gorgeous and is such an encouragement to me in my walk with Christ. Lauryn’s advice has never failed me, and I will be consulting her regarding all major life decisions from here on out… Seriously, though- this girl seems to have figured out life way before us all. She’s an amazing wife, mother, and homemaker. Girl, send me your chicken recipes.

Abigail took me by surprise this past year. After a brutal summer in 2022, this girl who barely knew me swooped in and went out of her way to be by my side and offer her full support. She let me join her for every home game this football season (War Eagle), even though I probably caused perforations in her right tympanic membrane in the 4th quarter. She’s a gem. If you need someone to genuinely rejoice in your triumphs and sensitively mourn your losses, she’s it.

Sister to the man of the hour, smells and looks much prettier, though… Some have even noted that she favors famous pop star Selena... This girl works her tail off and is always looking out for the other person. Easy to talk to and always listens intently and with compassion. Future psychologist, and it makes sense given that she's always in-tune to those around her. The bride never had a sister, and it is such a blessing to finally have one (and so close in age). Who planned that?

Also sister to the groom, possibly better at video games… TBD. Laughs at the slightest noise, making her the main target of the groom's silly antics. She plays coy at times but exudes copious amounts of irresistible rizz. Seriously, though, this girl is polite beyond belief. Every text she sends is so kind and thoughtfully written, so we'll forgive her for turning the group chats green. We designate her as the photographer on our adventures, as she has a knack for skillfully capturing sweet moments. So excited to be sisters-in-law with such a tender-hearted and fun girl!

Cousin to the bride and eldest flower girl (of two). The brains of the operations... Will probably do some light calculus and literary analysis of various volumes on the subject of being a flower girl in order to fulfill this honorable duty. She is sweet as can be and is extremely emotionally intelligent and adept at being the fresh-breath-of-air for everyone around her. With knitting and reading skills to boot, Emma could easily put most adults to shame. With that being said, who put this adult in a child's body???

Cousin to the bride. The yin to Emma's yang, Lucy is the one to shake things up and make sure that everyone is marching to the beat of her own drum. Charming and matter-of-fact about her own thoughts and ponderings, Lucy might be the one to defeat you in a classical debate... that is, unless she gets distracted trying to tackle her own cousins. She's got style and swag, and she dares to push the boundaries of pattern-mixing in her own wardrobe (stripes and florals and polka dots, I'm looking at you). Everyone needs a Lucy in their lives to remind them that life isn't always as serious as we make it...

The mother of the bride, AKA "the REAL Doctor Douglas." This woman has more grace and patience in her fingertip than I do in my whole body. She is my role model and who I aspire to be like one day. If she's not busy being my world's biggest supporter (and helping ailing patients, of course), she's teaching me a lesson, and I can appreciate that. My mom is my bestest friend and is always sacrificing her time (and sleep) to spend time with me, whether cuddling on the couch, sending me wiener dog memes on Instagram, playing the "sus game" (Among Us) with me, or planning this behemoth wedding. She's the woman I call whenever I don't know if leftovers are still good, when I feel sick because they definitely weren't, and the one to whom I can tell every gross detail about it. I have so many good things to say about this woman, but just the thought of trying to express it all makes me teary-eyed. I will definitely be boo-hoo crying like a little baby on the wedding day when I see her... But I know she will try to be strong and comfort me nonetheless. I love you, Mom, you girl-boss.

The father of the bride --Hey... you listening??-- and the power of the purse... (thank you, Dad!!). This man can quote Predator and Apocalypse Now in his sleep, but unfortunately for the rest of us, chooses to do so when awake. He is always setting up hunting equipment and Apple desktops for other people, at the very cheap price of hours of talking and your sanity! He's an avid box-collector and is always sure he can make use of every UPS or Amazon box that comes through our door each day...that is, if you consider maximalist decoration a good use. (On another note, this would be a good time to mention that we have 100s of boxes good to go to a new home ASAP!). Seriously, without this man, the wedding of my dreams could not happen. He has gone above and beyond to make sure his favorite (and only) daughter has only the best. My dad is extremely generous and is always looking out for those who need help. He's my 90-Day-Fiancé-watching buddy and my fellow dessert connoisseur. I am so thankful that he gets to walk me down the aisle and dance with me on February 24th.
