Question

What is the event schedule?

Answer

We will be having an afternoon wedding ceremony, with dinner, reception, and dancing in the evening. Both events will be held indoors at the same location, with a few hours separating them. Please see the "Schedule" page for more details, including a link to Google Maps.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Answer

Of course we can! The venue is an amazing restaurant that can accommodate any dietary restriction (and make it delicious). Please indicate the specifics on your RSVP and we will pass it along. If something changes after you RSVP, please let us know privately by September 1, 2023.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We are having a cash bar at our reception, as is the custom in Newfoundland and Labrador. Complementary wine will be provided with dinner, and soft drinks will be provided at no charge throughout the night. The venue is known for their selection of made-in-NL beers (including their own!) and awesome cocktails. We recommend trying them!

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered at Hudson's Bay Company, with other items collected on our "With Joy" page from other retailers. We also have a monetary fund if guests would prefer to gift cash. See the "Registry" section for details.

What should I wear?

Answer

We want you to be classy yet comfortable. Semi-formal or cocktail attire is recommended, and keep in mind there will be music and dancing in the evening. So feel free to bring a change of shoes, shed a layer or two (if appropriate!) and let loose. Weather in Corner Brook in late September is likely to be on the chilly side. Windy or rainy weather is also possible. There will be a free on-site coat check so you can bring your umbrella, jacket, outdoor shoes, or anything else you might need.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Only guests named on the invitations are invited. This is a small wedding by design, and unfortunately we cannot accommodate extra guests. If you have extenuating circumstances please feel free to reach out to us.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

No children aside from our two nephews will be permitted to attend the ceremony or reception. We have outlined this decision in an email sent at the end of January to all guests.

Do you have a cell phone/ photo policy?

Answer

We are asking that our guests put their phones away during the wedding ceremony in order to be present for this special time. We have an amazing photographer that will capture all the important moments, so you don't have to worry about missing out. During the dinner and reception, feel free to take photos of all the beauty, fun, and excitement you like. We will have a shared photo album set up so everyone can upload, download, and share all the pictures they like, even after the event.

Do you have a hotel you would suggest?

Answer

Absolutely! Our venue is connected to a fantastic boutique hotel, with other hotels in a short walking distance. Please see the "Travel and Accommodations" section for more details.

Is there parking available?

Answer

Parking is available behind the restaurant and is shared with the hotel, so available spots may be hard to come by. Luckily, there is ample street parking right outside and other parking areas very close by. All of these options are no charge. We ask that you do not use parking marked for businesses that are open at the time of our event.

Is there transportation available?

Answer

Since all three of our recommended hotels are within a 10 minute walk to our venue (and two of them are mere steps away!), we will not be providing transportation for guests. While there are no ridesharing apps available in Corner Brook, taxi services are close by and reliable. We will have this information available at the event.
