Whether you're coming from near or far, there are many new experiences to be had in the area. Enjoy the snow, eat and drink your way through Portland, and maybe even catch a fish while riding a dog sled and sipping on an Allagash White.

Maine mountains are pretty great. Sam has skied them all, many times. Last year Jess learned to ski on Shawnee Peak, which is just 9 miles from Old Saco Inn and has over 40 trails.

Skiing

Neither of us have ever been on a dog sled, but apparently it's a thing you can do in the Winter in Maine! Check out the places recommended by our venue...

Dog Sledding

There are lots of great trails in the area, but you'll have to BYOSnowShoes! For instance, check out Peaked Mountain Trail, which is located 16 miles from Old Saco Inn.

Fish Nerds Guide Service has two heated ice shakes on Silver Lake in Madison and another shack on a smaller lake.
