How We Met

First Comes Snapchat, then Comes Marriage

We met through a mutual friend that thought we would make a great couple. In high school, Snapchat is obviously the best place to find love. Matt sent Kim a snapchat from her friends account and from there they spoke everyday. They quickly planned a time to meet each other and hang out. After hanging out for the first time, they became inseparable. Needless to say our parents kept telling us to stop spending so much time together or else we would get sick of each other...we think it all worked out in the end.

Why Bar Harbor?

Kim's family has been vacationing in Maine for 5 generations. The Monahan family vacation is the highlight of her year and many times that vacation included a day trip to Bar Harbor. While Maine has always held a very special place in her heart, after the passing of her Grandfather in October 2019 it became even more special. Matt's family usually takes a cruise every year and one year that cruise happened to include several stops in Maine. One of these stops was Bar Harbor. Matt fell in love with Maine just as quickly as Kim did and he started tagging along on the Monahan family vacation ever since. We only toured one venue in Maine to host our wedding because we thought there was a very low chance we would actually get married in Maine. Boy were we wrong! As soon as we walked through the door at the Bar Harbor Inn we were blown away and immediately knew it was the perfect place to host our wedding.
