The Welcome Party will be on Friday night at Castiglia's event space, located at 911 Charles Street. This is different from Castiglia's restaurant (which is about a block away). The Welcome Party will start at 8:00 p.m. and go until around 11:00 p.m., but please come and go as you are able! It is walking distance from both hotels and there is also ample street parking. We will have some pizzas to snack on (so we recommend getting dinner before) and a cash bar. Hope to see you there!
The wedding ceremony and reception is at The Silk Mill at 1707 Princess Anne Street and will start at 4:30 p.m. We will be walking down the aisle promptly (hopefully) at 4:30 p.m., so please arrive a little before then!
There are many options! We will have a trolley and shuttle running loops from the Courtyard Marriott to The Silk Mill from 3:45-4:15 p.m. There is also ample parking at The Silk Mill. If you are staying at the Inn at the Silk Mill, the venue is just behind the Inn (so you only have a short 1 minute walk). Upon arrival, you will see signage directing you to the chapel for the ceremony.
Cocktail hour, of course! Family, we ask that you please remain in the chapel for pictures. Everyone else, please head outside towards the patio (weather permitting) for drinks and hors d'oeuvres!
Your options include: - Chicken with white wine asiago & pancetta cream sauce - Coffee encrusted beef in a savory shallot reduction - Roasted vegetable paella (V) All will be served with mashed potatoes (of course!), carrots, and green beans. You can select your meal option when you RSVP. There will also be a place to note dietary restrictions.
YES!
The trolley and shuttle will be running loops again! After the reception, both will make stops at the Capital Ale House and the Courtyard Marriott. Molly and Rachel plan to walk the 10 minutes to the after-party, so feel free to join us! The Capital Ale House is only a 5 minute walk from the Courtyard Marriott and the trolley will make loops back to the Silk Mill until 11:15 (there are also ubers/lyfts!)
There will be light breakfast served at the Courtyard Marriott and the Inn at the Silk Mill (and the brides plan to make appearances at both!). Then, if your travel plans permit, join the brides for a beer at Water’s End Brewery at 525 Caroline Street around noon!
For the wedding please come in formal attire! Tuxedos and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. The Welcome Party is dressy casual and the Sunday breakfast and brewery events are both casual.
As much as we’d like to think that our wedding will be the most unique wedding of all time, it will probably be pretty similar to most other weddings. There will be a beautiful ceremony where we will make vows to one another sealed with a kiss, plenty of jubilation and maybe some tears, then delicious drinks, appetizers, and dinner, all followed by dancing.
- Sit on either side of the chapel! As the old saying goes: “Pick a seat, not a side. Either way, it’s for the bride.” - Both of us will be in white dresses. - We are both walking down the aisle (Rachel will go first because she is more likely to make a photo-ready face as Molly walks in). - We both have bridal parties, and our bridal parties each include our brothers. - We are both doing first dances with our Dads. If you have another question, just ask us (but not on October 28th, please!). Also, if you are unfamiliar with the history of gay marriage and LGBTQ+ rights generally, we compiled some resources–check them out here: https://tinyurl.com/2rkkmebm
But not on Halloween! Please stick to formal attire for the wedding and not your best costume. However, we will have some small nods to Halloween throughout the weekend (and for those staying at the Inn, you might get lucky and see a ghost!).
We love all the children in our life and would be happy to have your little ones at the Welcome Party and Farewell Breakfasts. However, for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception, we are ONLY inviting the children of close family and the wedding party.
Please RSVP at mollyandrachel.com (using the RSVP tab above) by September 1. Please let us know if you run into any issues.
Let us know and we would be happy to answer it!
