Zurich Airport

Flughafen Zürich (Zurich Airport) is Switzerland's biggest international airport and is only 7-10 minutes by train from downtown Zurich. For your convenience, if you aren't planning to travel in Europe before our wedding weekend, we suggest you fly directly into Zurich. You might find slightly cheaper airfares into other international airports like Basel or Geneva (1 and 3 hours away respectively), but the price of train tickets would likely negate the discount. If travelling through Europe before the wedding, you may find some inexpensive flights into Zurich from other countries.

Shuttle

Getting to the Wedding (optional shuttle)

August 14, 2022 3:30 pm - 1:30 am

For our out-of-town guests, we will organize an optional shuttle service to and from the wedding location in Dürnten. The shuttle will leave from a central location in downtown Zurich. Schedule: 3:30pm - Shuttle leaves from downtown Zurich to the wedding venue. 12:00am - First shuttle leaves the wedding venue and returns to Zurich. 1:30am - Second shuttle leaves the wedding venue and returns to Zurich. You may take either return shuttle on the night of the wedding (no prior sign up required).

Hotel

Landgasthof Hasenstrick

Our wedding is taking place on the grounds of Hotel Landgasthof Hasenstrick. It is located about 40 minutes outside Zurich centre and has 27 charming and modest country-inn-style rooms. We have blocked all 27 rooms for the night of August 14, 2022. If you are interested in booking a room at our venue, click on the view button below, and go to the "Kontakt" menu tab on the website. Unfortunately their website is only published in German. In the contact form, fill in your name, email address and phone number. In the "Ihre Nachricht" field, write what dates and which rooms you'd like to book. They have double rooms (1 or 2 ppl) and a family room (for up to 3 ppl) available. If you are a single person requesting a room, please make that clear in the request, since the hotel will put you up in a double room but charge a single guest rate. Double room (hillside): 125 CHF/night (109 CHF for 1 person) Double room (lakeside): 129 CHF/night (109 CHF for 1 person) Family room: 199 CHF/night

Train

Public Transport

Zurich has one of the best public transport systems on earth. Trams, trains, buses and ferries make it incredibly easy to get around - and tickets can be used across modes of transportation. Tickets can be purchased in-person at every public transport stop or on the 'ZVV' app. Planning to travel in Europe before or after our wedding? Not only are flights to other European destinations quite affordable, but you might want to consider the train depending on your travel plans. Paris (4 hours), Rome (6 hours), and Berlin (8 hours) are all very manageable by train.

Street Parade 2022

Every year, on the second Saturday in August, Zurich's city centre (around the lake) transforms into the world's biggest EDM music festival. The Street Parade celebrates freedom, love and tolerance and thousands attend every year. This year it happens to take place the day before our wedding ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The event might have an impact on the availability of hotel rooms and other accommodations, so we advise you to book something sooner rather than later. In 2020 Street Parade was cancelled because of COVID-19. The status of the 2022 event is still undecided. We will keep you up to date.
