Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While your children are very cute, this is an adults-only affair.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

This will be a dairy wedding with vegan and gluten-free options, so hopefully there is something you can eat— but please let us know what you need!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

We have rented the parking garage at 3718 Henry Hudson Parkway for your use from 10:00am-6:00pm. The lot holds up to 60 cars and is first-come, first serve. We highly recommend carpooling or using public transportation if possible!

Question

What's a "Kabbalat Panim"? Should I go to that?

Answer

The Kabbalat Panim is a pre-celebration for the bride and groom to greet their guests before the ceremony. It’s sort of like having cocktail hour before the wedding, but with a distinctly Jewish flavor. This is also when the ketubah (marriage contract) will be signed. There will be food and drinks and singing and celebrating, so yes, you want to be there!

Question

I'm a woman and I don't know what I can wear in the synagogue. Help!

Answer

HIR is an Orthodox synagogue, but modest dress isn't required. Please dress how you normally would in a house of worship.
