You can find a great article about what it means to be non-binary here: https://www.healthline.com/health/transgender/nonbinary We wanted to make sure the terms we used during our wedding felt loving and authentic to Gabe's identity. The following terms are used: 1. Instead of "he/him/his", we use "they/them/theirs" when referring to Gabe in the third person. 2. Instead of "groom", we use "beloved." 3. Instead of "groomsman" we use "attendant." 4. Instead of "Mr." we use "Mx." (pronounced like "mix.") 5. Instead of "husband" we use "spouse."
Yes! Please come in cocktail attire.
February 1st is the deadline, but the earlier the better.
Yes. There will be a shuttle from The Campbell House to the Temple for the ceremony, from the Temple to the reception, and from the reception back to the hotel at the end of the night.
There is free parking for both the ceremony and the reception.
Abby loves both Ben Sisko and Jean-Luc Picard, though she thinks Deep Space Nine is the better show over all. It's hard for her to choose between the two captains. Gabe would rather serve under Ben Sisko.
Please only bring a guest if they are indicated on your invitation/RSVP.
It's French, not Italian, so don't go pronouncing it "Robitelli." No, it's not the cough medicine Dextromethorphan, better known as Robitussin either! It's like this: Robe-it-tie.
No! We want everyone to be present in the moment. That's why we hired an amazing photographer, Ariana Jordan. You can see already that she's done great work with our engagement photos. You can, however, take pictures at the reception. Just make sure to include our hashtag, #millerandrobitailletheknot when you post them on social media!
Abby will keep her name the same legally and professionally as an artist and writer. However, among friends and family she will go by Abby Miller Robitaille, and together her and Gabe will be The Robitailles/ The Robitaille Family.
We asked the three of them to respond to this question and got varying answers: Bilbo: "I am okay with it as long as I get to eat some wedding cake too. Or you can just leave some on your face and I will lick it off." Marvin: "I've been eyeing the pretty white dress for weeks hoping to decorate it with my lovely fur. I don't understand why Mom won't let me rub against it. Does that answer your question?" Gerald: "Who?"
If you don't want to get us one of the physical items on our registry, please consider making a contribution to our honeymoon fund! We love to travel and can't wait to explore Greece together. Alternatively, if you wanted to get us something special and personal that isn't listed on the registry, we would welcome that too.
Bring a dollar bill for the "Dollar Dance," a vaguely Slavic tradition from Gabe's hometown. Each guest will pay a dollar, receive a shot of whiskey (or apple juice for those under 21), and pick either Gabe or Abby to dance with.
