THEY MET This love story began with two people who swiped right on a dating app. Romantic, right!?! Miles and Jenna had their first date over dinner. Miles watched in amusement as Jenna struggled to find the front door of the restaurant. Who was this “directionally-challenged” girl he was waiting to meet? He talked about his passion for his Army career and all the “bad-ass” things he gets to do. Jenna talked endlessly about Boise, Idaho (even though she was born and raised in Washington state). Of course, Miles made many jokes about the Blue Turf and Idaho potatoes. Jenna smiled even though she had heard the jokes many times before. THEY FELL IN LOVE If you know Miles and Jenna (and we assume you do since you are on their website), you will agree they are a classic example of "opposites attract." Miles is a super spontaneous, goof-ball extrovert who jumps out of helicopters at work. Jenna is an organized, kindhearted introvert who gets excited when she sees a Chihuahua. Miles fell in love with Jenna because she was a sweet girl with a good head on her shoulders Jenna couldn't resist Miles for his ability to make her smile at any moment - not to mention his "party shirts". Miles and Jenna enjoy spending time at Acorn Brewery (where they can be found most weekends playing Rummy), visiting family and friends around the country, game nights, learning how to cook together (Miles is further ahead in that regard), spending lazy Sundays together and so much more. HE PROPOSED & SHE SAID YES! In August 2019 Miles planned a “Top Secret Mission” . . . a Proposal! With the help of his sister Jae and Jenna’s brother Daniel, Miles organized a trip by ferry to Bainbridge Island complete with views of the Puget Sound, wine-tasting. and a ring! On a beautiful summer day at Bainbridge Vineyard, Miles dropped down to one knee and asked Jenna to marry him. It was the sweetest and most romantic proposal. Clearly, Jenna said yes!
While their big Wedding Celebration was postponed to 2021, that didn't stop Miles and Jenna from getting married on July 26, 2020. The Massaro and Capehart families spent the weekend getting to know each other, and Miles and Jenna were finally able to leave their Puyallup home for a few days. With their families and a few close friends in attendance, Miles and Jenna said "I do" in the parking lot of their favorite place - Acorn Brewery! A close friend officiated the wedding, there was ice-cream sandwiches instead of cake, and most importantly it was a day that was completely about their marriage and the start of their life together. It was far from traditional - imperfectly perfect - but completely and uniquely their day.
