A story by Local Mike: Nicole and Mike met for the first time in 2015. He was surprising his sister Sara at Clemson University for her 21st birthday. Mike was working for the PGA Tour and living in Greensboro NC at the time so it was a close drive. Nicole was a Junior at Clemson studying Psychology. When Mike surprised Sara at her apartment she told him she had soccer practice that evening. Mike asked if he could come play. As they were stretching, Mike sees this “beautiful tan brunette” walk on the soccer field. He immediately asks Sara who she was and she said “that’s Nicole Sicilia, why do you ask?” Mike wanted to meet her. After practice at Sara’s birthday party Mike met Nicole briefly but was having to much fun with Sara to really get to know Nicole. He missed his chance… 5 years later in 2019 the night before Christmas Eve; in a bar in Hilton Head Mike sees Nicole for the first time since they met. Mike was confused why she was in town, maybe she was on holiday vacation with her family? No, her family lives here in Bluffton. Well this is perfect Mike thought. Mike asked her if she would get a drink with him the day after Christmas at the Sea Pines Beach Club. Mike ordered Mudslides (Nicole’s first time trying them and now her favorite). They walked along the beach and at the end of the date Mike didn’t want to miss his chance and kissed Nicole. With the Beach Club having a special meaning to them Mike proposed to Nicole in August 2022, two and half years after their first date. All of their family and Nicole’s close friends were there to celebrate. We are now looking forward to celebrating the wedding with you all in Charleston!
