Michael and Elisa might have been an unlikely couple, being from opposite sides of the country. Fortunately, they were brought together in an epic saga, which we'll capture here for you. It all started when Michael decided to move to California. With his favorite Udel friends (Matt & Katie Stagitis) by his side, Michael came in search of In'N'Out burgers. However, to this day, he remains ignorant to their glory. Elisa first met Michael at a rooftop brunch in San Francisco in 2015, organized by mutual friend Katie* whom Elisa befriended at Netflix. It was this day that their friendship began. *Katie now admits to manifesting Michael & Elisa's eventual marriage, and she probably does deserve some credit. Years went by. Although still just friends, Michael and Elisa got to know each other in many settings: dancing on duffy boats in Newport Beach, road-tripping to Vegas at 4am, basketball games at Staples Center, and lazy football Sundays. Eventually in 2018, they came to the brilliant realization that they were MORE than just friends - they made an adorable couple! Their relationship grew effortlessly from friendship to a partnership full of burritos, sunsets, and deep talks. Most notable was the trials and tribulations of adopting their shelter dog, Bruno, who ultimately bonded them as a little family! During the pandemic, like many couples, Michael and Elisa were being tested. Lockdown had its fun times (picnics) but also had its hurdles. It was during this time that their love grew stronger and deeper. So in 2021, everything perfectly fell into place. They bought a house in Long Beach, CA. And not long after, Michael took Elisa to their favorite picnic spot at La Brea Tar Pits, and popped the big question! Elisa didn't hesitate--her answer was a resounding HELL YEAH. And the rest, as they say, is history!
