This airport services Cartagena and is very near the historical part of the city, where all wedding events will take place.
Hotel
Cristina and Mike will be staying at Voila Centro Historico. They have provided a discount code of 50% for our guests. You are welcome to join us at the hotel, or feel free to stay elsewhere if that is more your vibe. There are many other hotels and AirBnBs nearby, although we recommend staying in the Walled City. Seasoned travelers can check out the neighborhood Getsemani, but all wedding activities will take place in the Walled City. You can find more information in the Google Doc we put together. Our wedding planners also offer a concierge service to our guests that includes helping with accommodations. Please email reservations@two.travel with any questions. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MYQcX27oCNNzE50ptH09zdjW3zqMmRFzmHQNwfoPfNY/edit?usp=sharing

Travel Note
When you arrive in Cartagena, you can order an Uber to take you to your hotel. Make sure you know the name and the address of your hotel and confirm it is correct in the app before you order the ride. You will NOT need a rental car in Cartagena. It takes 15 minutes to walk across the entire Walled City, and all official wedding festivities will take place in the Walled City. The roads in the Walled City are 400 years old, meaning they were not designed for modern traffic. Nobody drives in Cartagena. You can order an Uber if you will be leaving the Walled City for any reason. Or you can ask your hotel to order you a taxi. It is not recommended that you hail a taxi in the street.
Travel Note
Of course. We would never take you somewhere unsafe. The major cities in Colombia are extremely secure and have a lower homicide rate than Chicago. The Colombian economy depends on the tourism industry and so they particularly take good care of the tourist areas. The entire Walled City is really just for tourists at this point. That said, you are expected to be responsible for yourself and your belongings. There is a saying in Colombia, "no dar papaya." It means do not make yourself a target. Cristina was pick-pocketed twice in Bogota and both times were her fault (her wallet was literally hanging out of her coat pocket). Only carry enough cash that you need for that day. Be mindful of your surroundings. Keep valuables in front of you rather than behind you and do not flash them around. The city is very safe you should not have any issues.
