We just couldn't wait, now let's celebrate!

Two people don't fall in love without patience, honesty, conviction, and a little bit of luck. Michael De Sotel and Cody Chesmore fell for one another because they didn't just believe in each other, but in themselves as well. Cody Chesmore attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA, initially majoring in Criminology. In his remaining semester of his undergrad he took a Creative Writing course, Introduction to Fiction, where he would go on to meet Drew DeSotel, Michael's older brother. Shortly after graduating with his bachelors degree, Cody decided to persue his Master's degree in English while rooming with Drew. During this time, Cody would come to meet the rest of the DeSotel family and frequent many family gatherings. Michael would often visit her brother at his apartment where, together, they would play videogames for hours and order carry out from $5 Pizza on College Hill in Cedar Falls. Michael attended Hawkeye Community College and would often offer to tidy up her brother's apartment as he was working and attending school, both full time. It wasn't until Spring of 2017 where Michael and Cody's love story finally began. They began chatting after one of Michael's visits to the apartment and ended up talking for hours. Talking lead to texting, texting lead to coffee, coffee lead to chinese food, and the rest in history! Now, Michael and Cody live in their cozy home in Boone, IA with their three wonderful kitties: Blink, Penelope, and Hank. Cody currently works at DMACC (Des Moines Area Community College) at Carroll, Templeton, and Boone campuses as an English Professor. Michael actively works at Little Tigers Clubhouse in Gilbert while attending DMACC for her counseling degree. Together they'll be celebrating their first year of marriage at this upcoming reception! We can't wait to party with you all!
