Love stories are unique. It’s not the how, the when, or the where two people fall in love that are the important details. Instead, it’s the little interactions, the smiles, laughs, hardships, ups, downs, moves, new jobs, furry friend additions (coming soon), difficult conversations, exciting trips, trust, love, and partnership that make each story different… but that’s for another day. For now, let’s get back to the basics. Michaela and Matt met in a very modern way -- with a swipe (that means online dating for anyone…never mind, anyone who doesn’t understand probably didn’t find the wedding website anyways 😉). Michaela had just returned from a trip with her family to Mexico. Matt hadn’t done anything spectacular… so it was on Michaela to come up with something interesting to talk about. They met at Wally’s Jazz Club in the South End of Boston and continued the conversation over dinner at Parish Café. Getting to Parish Café was a good sign. The first date was great but the real first step was a couple days later when a snowstorm hit the Northeast. Despite Matt’s brothers’ cautions, Matt and Michaela decided it was a good idea to have a snow day together. Michaela really wanted someone to help shovel the snow and promised pizza in return. It was a win-win. The months that followed led them to Newport, Mexico, Seattle, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Chicago, Iowa, and…countless weddings. Michaela quickly learned that dating Matt meant lots of weddings and approximately 40 nights from December through early April of yelling at Kentucky Basketball. On the other hand, Matt learned that Michaela was about genuine friendships, family, and the importance of stepping away for personal time… and reading a good book or 12. Over the past three years they’ve supported one another, challenged each other when necessary, and most importantly, fallen in an unconditional love. This journey is just beginning. And it’s a journey they’re excited to continue with all of you.
