If you're arriving in Calgary before heading to Canmore or Banff, you'll be happy to know there are several convenient transportation options available, including rental cars, private transfers, shuttle buses, and public transit.

Transit to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise

Due to high demand, visiting Lake Louise and Moraine Lake requires planning. Parking lots fill up before sunrise and remain full until sunset. Taking transit or booking a Parks Canada shuttle is easy, stress-free and the only way to ensure you see these iconic lakes. Booking your shuttle in advance is required.

National Park Pass for Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper

A National Park Pass is required when entering a national park in Canada. Everyone planning to visit Banff National Park including Banff town and the Lake Louise area require a pass. Park Passes can be purchased online, at the park gates if driving to Banff National Park, or in person at the Visitor Centres in Banff and Lake Louise. Personally, I would reserve the online pass as soon as you can, as July is peak season for visitors and Parks Canada has been known to turn cars away as the park is at capacity.
