Question

The Big One - What about COVID?

Answer

Updated 09/14/2021: We are still staying as safe as we can, but our area is seeing an uptick in COVID cases, as are many other areas. Please join us from home if you are not feeling well or think you may have been exposed to COVID. If you are not fully vaccinated, we ask that you please consider the safety of everyone and get a test as close as possible to our wedding. Even though we are fully vaccinated, and most of our guests are, we are planning to test also. As far as masks: we will have some disposable masks available, but also welcome you to bring your favorite. They're the new accessory, right? We ask that you wear it while moving about the venue and during our ceremony, where there is plenty of space to sit socially distanced. You are welcome to remove your mask to eat, drink, and smile for the camera, but the expectation is that you wear it the rest of the time. It's a bummer, and we wish it were different, but we'd rather have you here in a mask than not have you!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and Target. Please see our Registry page for links!

Question

Do I have to shop off of your registeries?

Answer

We get it - there is plenty going on right now and shopping may not be high on your to-do list! First and foremost, we are so excited to be with friends and family again, so know that your presence is such a gift to us and you are under NO obligation to give us more than that. If we learned nothing else in 2020, we really learned how much we value you! It's traditional, though, to give a wedding gift, so we know that's on your mind. If you'd prefer to give us a gift card or a monetary gift and pop it in a card instead of browsing and wrapping, we'd love that too! We do ask that, if you decide that you would like to give a monetary gift in the form of a check, that you make it to Melissa Andersen and Zach Bergman because it takes a while to change a name, so we won't technically be the Bergmans for a while.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We are excited for a chance to dress up after more than a year of living in sweats and pajamas! We can't wait for an excuse to look and feel our best, and want you to feel great, too! You know us, we're not fancy folks, so dressy casual is just fine. We're not the black tie type, but would love to have you feel a little special too and be excited to jump into pictures, because we're expecting lots and lots of photos with the people we love!

Question

Is it okay if I wear white to the wedding? What if it's, like, only partly white?

Answer

Ah, the eternal guest question... Melissa would appreciate it if you did not wear a floor-length white gown to the wedding, if you can at all help it. Got a white dress with some polka dots on it that looks amazing on you? Rock it! Have a white shirt that pairs perfectly with the pants that make you look like a model? Wear that shirt!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids as much as we love you, and are happy to have them at our wedding! That being said, if you'd prefer a night without them, we understand and will leave that decision up to you!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Our event space has a very small parking lot that we can use. It is situated in a residential area, so there is also street parking in the surrounding blocks. If you can carpool or use a rideshare service, it will probably make your night easier! There is an adjacent lot for the Tacoma Rescue Mission Thrift Store. We are NOT allowed to park in that lot. Please see our venue's parking map here: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/51e45c34e4b0b50a1996188e/t/5fab0709afc6d879071db037/1605043977707/Parking+Map-2021-NoTRM.pdf

Question

How can I celebrate with you from home?

Answer

Great question! We have made the hard decision to keep our in-person guest list short, out of an abundance of caution and safety. There are so many more people we love and want to share the day with, and still others who simply don't feel safe traveling at this time. We get it! We will be streaming our ceremony in real time on the 25th through LoveCast (please see the Schedule tab for the web address) and hosting an informal virtual reception on the 26th that we hope you will pop into so that we can see you!

For all the days along the way
