The story of our first date started off…well, canceled. Chase was in West Virginia on a climbing trip, with a perfect plan to make it back in time for the date. Regrettably, he quickly realized he wouldn’t be back in time and was forced to cancel the prospective date. He insisted on rescheduling, and Meghan was gracious enough to grant him a happy hour date at 5Church… in between her two other social obligations! Chase must’ve done something right, because Meghan proceeded to push her original ending deadline not once, not twice, but three times! Their evening eventually concluded with a breathtakingly romantic side-hug, but a second date shortly followed just a few days later. Chase’s good friend Joey happened to call him as he was driving home from the date, and asked how it had went. Chase’s response? “If I don’t mess this up, I’m going to marry her.” (If you’re willing to track Joey down at the wedding, he will absolutely confirm this)!

Prior to graduating law school Chase decided to build a teardrop camper trailer with the help of his brother Tyler. Chase’s plan was to travel cross-country to California on a nation-wide climbing trip after taking the bar exam. Meghan had a few work meetings in Vegas, and jokingly tossed out the idea of meeting Chase for dinner as he passed through. The suggestion somehow morphed into her planning to join Chase for the full week of Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Arches national parks. She’ll now admit she fully invited herself, but regardless, Chase was excited to have her join! On the way back from the trip, we realized we had truly been together almost nonstop for 7 days, and truly loved every minute of it. All of the laughter, meaningful conversations, and incredible experiences we shared - and we were both so happy to have spent that time together. I think we both knew realized that we had found a best friend and incredible partner.

As many have come to know, Meghan and Chase enjoy modeling for professional photographers. Early on they did a shoot with Taylor and immediately fell in love with her style and approachable personality. After their second shoot with Taylor, Chase approached her with a secret proposition: to aid in his plan to propose to Meghan. Chase asked Taylor to reach out to Meghan asking for them to model for a shoot at Sunset Rock on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga Tennessee. Meghan obviously accepted Taylor’s offer, while Chase played the role of clueless boyfriend. Fast forward to the day of the engagement, Taylor had food poisoning behind the camera but was unwilling to spoil the surprise. Taylor gave Chase the code word to get the ring and posed Meghan in such a way that she was unable to see Chase. Meghan turned. Chase knelt. Meghan said, and I quote, “shut up!” Eventually, a clarification of yes was given from behind tears. As they headed down from Lookout Mountain the obligatory phone calls were made. Unbeknownst to Meghan, Chase had coordinated the dates and locations with not only the photographer, but with Meghan’s and Chase’s parents. Chase and Meghan walked into the restaurant and a split second later, she noticed her mom sitting in the corner and immediately burst into happy tears (much to the surprise of the bachelorette party sitting at the next table). A wonderful dinner with our soon-to-be combined families followed, with celebratory champagne and wine and delicious food - the cherry on top of the perfect proposal! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Atlanta!
